Would love some sage advice before contacting a B&O store on the best way to update a present multi room set up listed below in current house as we prepare a move in early spring into a new build with a similar set up. Currently using an NL/ML convertor with 2 active and one passive kit. Sincerest thanks appreciated in advance.

Current system:

front room: Beovision Avant, 2014, Beosound 9000 and Beosound 5 with Beolab 9's

middle room/office: 2 Beolab 8000's and a Beolab 2 (active kit)

master bedroom: Panasonic and two Beolab 12-2's (active kit)

We also have Beoplay A6, M5 and Beosound 2 wireless speakers that participate via multi room. Will definitely keep the Beomaster 5 and use the Beosound 5 as a paperweight!!! Have not yet decided on the Beousound 9.

Thank you again for any guidance,

Gary

Hi Gary

Where is the passive kit used ?

At first I thought the simple solution was to replace the kits with Essence mk IIs; and explore connecting the Panasonic to the Essence's line-in.

However wanting to keep the BeoSound 5 (I agree it's a beautiful paperweight) means retaining some ML connections and looking to the BeoLink Converter NL/ML as a bridge (and maybe a second for the BeoSound 9000).

I strongly recommend you download the BLC's technical and spend a week studying its combinations and permutations.

The passive kit was used for the patio speakers which will not be used once moved into new house. Simply looking for the best way to make analog and digital live in harmony! It has been mentioned to me to upgrade to a connectivity hub in place of the NL/ML convertor that I presently have.

That setup could effordless be transformed to a different location.

I didd not notice any mentioning of a NL/ML Converter - in case old and new is supposed to work together.

Maybe that is meant by 'connectivity hub'??? Otherweise I would not know what that is, either!

The most important thing before a move to a new location/house is to get the cabling well done/the infrastructure must be well considered.

The attached photo of a Beocore connectivity hub is attached below. Apparently this is part of the Beoplay 8 and the new The Shape that eventually will help an existing analog and digital combination system better perform together.

Can't see the photo

And so far we have only had rumours of the shape components being used elsewhere

There is a rumour that parts of the shape are the next Essence (mark III)

Which would be wonderful

You must have wonderful contacts/ great supplier
