Beofan2: In less than a week we all know a lot more facts about Eclipse. Spoke with my dealer today. He recieves Eclipse next wednesday. I will make my final judgement then but I´m excited from what I`ve learnt so far.

thanks - not quite as bad as i had thought actually.
Pretty much the same as the 14-55 with fabric cover.
Bit less than the Avant, discounts notwithstanding.
The soundbar doesn't separate does it? All part of the same unit, from what i understand...

That's actually not that bad. 1000 cheaper would of been better, I think the Avant 55 was 5000 when it launched. The two major things I am curious about is will it come with hdmi 2.1 and will you be able to upgrade the panel. Someone mentioned the later in one of the threads and if its true it could change the longterm value proposition somewhat depending on the cost of the upgrade.
I don't believe the current 2017 LG's come with 2.1, so i doubt that the Eclipse will.
From what i read, full 2.1 capability requires a hardware upgrade. Certain aspects (dynamic metadata for HDR) may work over 2.0 with a software upgrade.
Personally i wouldn't worry, but thats just me.
Most of these new capabilities require physical discs to show the TV's ability at its best. I'm not inclined to upgrade my (30-40) Blu-Rays to 4K UHD versions, and then again to HFR versions anytime soon. Picture quality is pretty damn good on Blu-Ray, and yes while 4K HDR versions will be better, in the end most modern films (which is what will be available in newer formats) aren't very good. Upgrading a disc collection is also expensive - my Blu-Ray discs cost 10 pounds max, fine for a classic movie, but 4K UHD discs are roughly 25 pounds....
So i wouldn't worry about it

Good points, I agree I dont think not having it is a deal breaker.

A picture would be nice.....
Although the article doesn't say a lot to be fair....
Sandyb: Although the article doesn't say a lot to be fair....
No, I agree. At least as a Beoworld`er. I posted it because it has a mock up and wanted some reaction to that. I don´t expect Recordere or any other media to post actual information before august 30.
Sandyb:Yeah, I suspect there might be some hard-core gamers for whom 2.1 might be an issue, but for the rest of us, I wouldn't stress. As for swapping the panel in the future, interesting question, though my gut instinct says pretty unlikely. Not sure where that previous comment came from. But of course would be a great option to have

Another little bird told me that the internal order from the dealer to B&O actually includes two items: the screen and the "sound processor". I don't know if it's for logistics (screen from South Korea and soundbar from DK or CZ) or if we can dream of having a modular, future-proof setup.
Rombeek: A picture would be nice.....
There's one linked above. Still a bit on the fence about the design. What do others think?

Invitations starting to come from the dealers, who have
'something that secret that they can't yet talk about it',
to show on august the 30.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I think I like the design, it depends on how slim the overall profile is and I hope the back is flat as opposed to, like most televisions, a thin part for panel and a thicker part for the electronics. I would prefer more a beovision 14 side profile if you get what I mean.
moxxey: There's one linked above. Still a bit on the fence about the design. What do others think?
Google translates part of the article linked above as follows:
"Pictured above is our bid on appearance of the soundbar, but it is important to stress that this is a mockup. It is NOT B&Os OLED TV that is on the image, but merely a recordere.dk illustration".
Its just guesswork on their part so far.
Duels: Its just guesswork on their part so far.
If you read what someone who has seen it above, he says it's 95% the same. So it's far from "guesswork". They've just added a warning to cover themselves.
andy_js:Kind of looks like the second coming of the BV7.
To be fair though, I think I prefer the design of the BV7, especially the space between the panel and speaker. I do wonder how this will work if the speaker is huge and the panel is wafer-thin. Will look odd on the wall, for example. If the speaker separates from the panel, I suppose it could rest on a cabinet below.
Guess we'll find out next week.

I think it would perfectly work with table easel stand! And it would be a mor affordable alternative.

Sandyb:Nice idea in theory They do a lot of things very well, but not everything Siri isn't very good firstly - maybe none of the voice assistants are either, but they are certainly behind in this area. Not sure Face time on a big screen is its best use. And TV OS is very far from perfect - works fine as a disparate set of apps but has a long way to go to become a unified interface and relies on 3rd party services to play ball, which they don't always (Netflix) The apps themselves are also not all great - I investigated replacing my cable package with streaming subscriptions for tennis, golf and the NFL. Chose not to - the app experience is compromised or unreliable, and these are from big official providers. An Apple TV set might encourage these to develop, but as of now are very compromised. Personally speaking, current high end TV'S are amazing - I'd rather leave the producing of images and audio to the experts, which Apple aren't. And I say this as an Apple fan. And producing TV'S is expensive. It doesn't fit their high margin model.
Michael:I think they can produce a Tv successfully and with a profit margin that's great for them. One Apple TV would not be like Samsungs plethora of TVs. So less problematic in that point of view.
They aren't producing a TV. Please move on from this thought. It's been discussed since...2010.
TVs are old-school. It's not Apple's target area, plus they have no real area to display huge TVs nor want to compete against Samsung and others who produce their own panels.
On top of this, Apple has said numerous times that their Apple TV product is more of a 'hobby' and has been given a relatively low priority. We might see a 4K version be released this September and we might see more custom TV content from Apple, but we won't see a consumer TV.
