Tried that but I still get the shadow following the ball.
We have been in a search for a replacement TV to our BV5 in our living room for a while now. Early this year I was really looking forward to the new OLED BeoVision, but when the Eclipse came, it was a real disappointment that the integration with our BS9000 would not be supported with the Eclipse. I have therefore been searching for a preowned BV12-65, BV11-55 or BV14-55 this fall. Buying a preowned BeoVision TV in Norway isn’t easy however - not many BV for sale here. And buying a BV from Denemark or UK could be a challenge wrt VAT, guarantees etc. And lastly now a new challenge occurred: Discontinued Beolink ML/NL, making it hard to have a integrated and usable setup with a preowned BV and our BS9000 plus the BV5 as well...
So - today we took a decision: We ordered the 65” Eclipse with alu front and floor stand + the Beosound Core. So our new setup will be: BV5, BL8000 and the BS Core in our glass house, Eclipse, BL5 and BS9000 in our living room. Core will integrate the two room sound wise. The BS9000 and BV5 will still be connected via ML through the wall. Using a PL switch, we should still be able to use digital input from our BS9000 to the BL5 while the BL5 are connected to the Eclipse.
Looking forward to get the new setup up and running mid January :-). (A parallel project is to upgrade our projector in the basement - going for a new 4K HDR projector with a 110-120” screen with our current surround setup.)
By going for the Eclipse, we will take the first step into the future app-based (voice) integration setup, and have the dream picture quality in our living room. And at the same time do what we can to support our local B&O store and the B&O brand and company as well.

That sounds like a stunning setup you will have. Congrats. Let us know how it all plays out in the end.
Just watched Netflix The Crown in 4K UHD. Stunning picture (but not on a Beovision unfortunately).

Mikipedia:@tigerisak Do you have the option “real cinema” on or off? Change that and maybe also try the general powersaving options, i’ve been able to make my eclipse perform almost identically to my 144hz and pro 60hz screen. Iam watching sports now and i can’t see any gohsting

Is it possible for you to post a print screen of all your settings or just write em down? Would really appreciate to get your settings.
One question reg the Eclipse:
We have stored our Hi8/Mini DV video recordings (4:3 format) on a Sony DVD/HDD in our basement, and this is connected to the BV5 and controlled by the BV5 with PUC. When watching these 4:3 recordings on our BV5, the picture first are displayed as 16:9, but then we easily can use the Beo4 to change to 4:3 format (Format+1+left arrow).
My question is: Is it possible to change the picture format to 4:3 on the Eclipse? If this is not possible on the Eclipse, we should plan to pull scart cables from this DVD/HDD unit to the BV5 after we’ve moved this to our glass house, and not connect this device with HDMI to the Eclipse....
@Mikipedia: Great - that was a relief :-) !
Mikipedia:@tigerisak I looked, sorry about the delay, my screen in in expert mode bright. Power setting off/minimum. Furter more in expert control and picture options literally everything is set to off. In picture options only black level is auto because you can’t change it. There is slight ghosting, but not bad at all, and only on the very fast moving ball

An update from Struer:
By the end of January a road map for future functions will be presented. No new functions to be added in January, only bug fixes. BeoLink Smart Home part 1 was included with the latest release of 2017:
Roger
Hi Roger,
Are you saying that Beovision Eclipse now support Beolink Gateway and that I can controll the TV with the Beolink app?
Best RegardsMartin

Hi Martin,
Yes, that is what the sw team working on this confirmed last month - the "part I" is already included in the latest sw release. They will present a roadmap by the end of January for upcoming additions, and then we will get a better view of the future capabilities of the Eclipse.

Do You know wich software glitches there is today with Beovision Eclipse?
I have today a Beovision 7-55 Mark II that works perfect in every way. I am thinking of buying a 65-inch Eclipse BUT I dont want a lot of sofware problems!
Hi Mikipedia,
I what cases do You experience problems with the TV with the latest software? Your answer is crusial for me if I am going to pull the trigger for a 65-inch.
I saw that there was an update two days ago.
Best

I am connecting Beolab 5 as frontspeakers and Beolab 3 as rear speakers. I am also considering to sell my Beosound 5 and my two Beolab 3500 in two different linkrooms. I am thinking of going "all in" with the new NL-system. Therfore I am considering buying two Beoplay A6 as linkspeakers in the two rooms were I today have the Beolab 3500.
Do You think this setup with an Eclipse with Labs 5 and 3 in main room and Beoplay A6 in linkrooms will work well? I will not use WISA but I will use Wifi for A6 speakers and Cable for internet to the Beovision Eclipse.
I have today a Beovision 7-55 Mark II which I are very pleased with. The PQ on this TV is very good.
A question to You: Do you think it is a wise decision to trade in my BV 7-55 MKII and buy an 65-Eclipse? Or should I stay with the 7-55 because it is maybe the best Tv B&O ever built. How should I think about this?
Best Regards
Martin
First of all - I am not using my BS9000 today because of faulty laser, so this is not a problem.
I use my TV today mostly looking at Netflix series and not so much movies. It is very seldom today that I put an Bluray movie in the the blurayplayer. I have maybe seen 3 bluraymovies last year.
I agree regarding the Beoremote that I also like the old Beo4-remote more than the new remote.
My Beovision 7-55 Mark II is 5,5 years old and I love it. The TV has no software glitches and the PQ is excellent in every way. Every peace in my setup (BV 7-55, Beolab 5, Beosound 5 and Auralic Aries) works perfect today with no software glithces. This is the reason why I hesitate to go "all-in" with Eclipse and linkroom speakers (Beoplay A6). As you see in my setup I also have the old Beolab 3500 in two linkrooms and Beolink Gateway that makes me control all my Masterlink products with Beolink APP. This works also perfect today.
My question to You is: Do you think 5,5 years is making my BV 7-55 "old" and big risk for hardware faults? The screen hours is 5.200.
Hello,
Please forgive me if the question has already been treated but: I own a Beovison Avant (old one with cathodic screen). Between brackets, even though picture is a lot better on new screens, the sound of this still "buries" nearly any new TV on the market.
Precisely: I have a wired link (since 2003) allowing me to listen to TV or my B&O Hi-fi (Beogram 5000 etc.) from my bathroom, kitchen etc.
My dealer told me that if I would buy an Eclipse, I could lose this functionality, or that I should « choose » between having TV sound and Hi-fi sound.
As far as you know :
- Can I still profit from this functionality if I buy an Eclipse ?
- If no, is it part of the upgrade which is announced ?
Thanks a lot for your answer
Jean-François
From a analytic perspective, you should keep your existing setup. If it's not broken, why fix it? Let the Eclipse mature and/or maybe there's a new TV around the corner that is more to your liking. I also think it's fair to say that wireless NL will never be as rock solid as wired ML (This is an issue with wireless vs wired, not NL vs. ML), and 5.5 years is not really that old. Yes, it's old if you look at TV technology in general, but as long as it is working for you with respect to PQ and content, then who needs the new stuff. I guess this doesn't consider the trade in value of your current BV, but in the US there's generally no aftermarket for BVs so this never works into my consideration.
Then comes the emotions... my wife and I happen to think the Eclipse is stunning and solved a challenging placement issue in a very elegant way so we took a deep breath and put in an order. It is scheduled for delivery next week (but then our BV8 was broken). I will be leaving "behind" a bunch of ML equipment (i.e. will not be integrated with the Eclipse), but we rarely used the ML integration with the TV.
Good luck,
Stan
@Martin: We are about to replace our 14 year old BV5 with an Eclipse 65 (next Friday :-) ) - although the BV5 will still be used in another room together with our BL8000. So your 5 year “old” BV7-55 is as good as new to me. BV7 even have HDMI inputs - which the BV5 doesn’t have (the main reason for replacing it in our living room!)
Mikipedia:@jfjbrussels I think what your dealer told you is correct. And as far as i’ve been told anything that is not network link will not work anytime soon/if at all. I was told that if i wanted to use a bs9000 for instance i would need to connect the aux into the eclipse, then on the eclipse go to aux input, and control the bs9000 manually. So it wouldn’t be very integrated at all. I don’t think they’ll do much backwards compatibility anymore besides speakers, unfortunately.
the Eclipse will not get the ability "connected sources". But this does not means that if one has a BS9000-BLC connected in ones NL setup one cannot join this source with the Eclipse. So it is still possible to use ML products with the Eclipse
Thanks a lot for these great answers. So, if I understand (forgive me not to have your skills about B&O products !), I will not be able to manage sources thanks to Eclipse software (connected sources), but pressing my Link button on the wall (or TV on my remote control) could still make it possible to get the sound in other rooms and set volume level? It is, for me, a main advantage of B&O installations...
Thanks a lot and have an excellent weekend
