Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence
I have used books to cover the cable mess. Still missing to cover the last 10cm.
I have installed a 3m HDMI and USB she cable, so I can plug in without removing the covers on the TV.
As I wrote in another thread, DTS-HD is now supported
As I was setting the TV up, it became very clear that the panel is far from a stock LG C7, all the back panel have been altered, so it match the B&O style, and most important you can hide the cables, which is not possible from most other brands. But in generel a joy to assemble the TV, and much lighter then the BV7 and Avant :)
What I enjoy most with the TV is the simple control with the Beoremote, and the electric stand. Worth the money, and beats the very good Avant.
And also my Beolab 20 sounds much better now, compared running them with the Marantz.

Hi Emil,- Please elaborate. What else is different apart from the back cover?
Any chance of a full picture of the type label on the panel, less the serial number of course.
elephant: Emil Jensen: And also my Beolab 20 sounds much better now, compared running them with the Marantz. Great setup Emil .... How do the BL20s sound with the Eclipse ? Are you running a 3.0 setup for video - or are you lucky enough to have built a 5.x setup ? Do you use just the BL20s for audio ?

I only have a 3.0 setup. No need for a subwoofer, the Beolab 20 is plenty.
I have had surroundsound many times before, And I must say that the effekt is not that great in my opinion.
Anyways I am not getting surround in the apartment I am in now, maybe later on.
When I listen to Deezer or Tune in I only use the Beolab 20, much better effekt. In video I use all speakers.
And the sound of the Beolab 20 is just great with the Eclipse, much better then before, it is a fantastic speaker.

Else then the backcover, which is 50% of the panels design, the software is very different.
You have the sound, Source and Stand setting integrated in the TV. In my view the software is as much B&O as the Avant, you just have the ekstra Software from LG also.
The B&O settings on the Eclipse is also better, then on the Avant.

Anyone else that has experienced problems with the remote since yesterday? I cant choose sources anymore it just shows "TV" thats all. Tried to do a factory reset on the remote but didn't solve it. Ideas?
When you press "LIST" does it show "Beovision Eclipse" at the very top of the remote's screen? I was messing with my remote the other day, and somehow this "product" setting got changed to a different value which then changed the LIST, TV and Music button behavior. You can re-select Beovision Eclipse" under LIST->SETTINGS (somewhere under here, near the "Factory Reset", but I don't have my remote in front of me so I can't tell you exactly where).
Otherwise, perhaps the remote is no longer paired with the TV. I think you can view remote pairings under the SETTINGS application on the BV. Try re-pairing the remote with the TV because the menu items that show up under "TV" are sent from the BV to the remote.

Fidse:It’s probably just me who’s either blind or dumb.... But can anyone tell me, how to connect my H9i’s to my Eclipse (wireless)? Thanks

i don’t think you can as I was told by the engineers who insmine that the Eclipse does not have a suitable Bluetooth transmitter the only Bluetooth it had is for the remote

Fidse:So i just bought the top model 10.300€ TV and the top model 510€ headphones from the same company, and i can’t connect these two, without using a cable like it’s 1992.
That’s about right. It was suggested that I buy a Bluetooth transmitter and plug it into the Eclipse!
On another note. We have two pairs of top of the range B&O headphones but cannot use them together on Bluetooth as the iPhone cannot determine which is which and comes up with an error or switches the other pair off!
happy days!

Sandyb:Surely the dealer explained that the headphones you have can’t pair with multiple devices? Or is it the TV that has the one only limitation/ memory? I thought about a BT transmitter for my Avant- but my dealer advised against. They’re generally too unreliable from his experience. Bluetooth has its limitations - it’s been widely adopted recently but really only works well in simple cases in my view. I tried a B&O pair with a BV14, and like others who did similarly, the lack of volume/ power made them useless. It was astonishing.

We have two pairs of Bang & Olufsen Bluetooth headphones, H9’s and H8’s each being connected to a separate iPhone. If both headphones are switched on both iPhones get confused and end up stopping both headphones! Neither of the headphones will connect to the Eclipse! We usually end up connecting the headphones to the iPhone by the 3.5mm lead/jack.

elephant:@Sandyb @Fisde I use my B&O BT ANCs paired with the Apple TV. I know that doesn’t solve the sports issue. So just a thought for other material. BeoNut since '75
Sandyb:Limitations of the TV then, that is unfortunate I’m sorry to hear that.

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
Hey Fidse
I'll write following in Danish about your headphone problem.....
Hej Fidse

KMA:How is it possible that in the B&O LG/SoundCenter combo bluetooth headphones do not work?
Not exactly an answer, but from looking at how one does this with a standard LG tv, the bluetooth is part of the "audio output" of the TV (you go into the "audio output" settings, etc.). In the case of the Eclipse, all of the audio output is handled by B&O. Apparently B&O didn't think this was important (or there's a technical reason why BT wouldn't work with the sound center).

Probably the same reason the WiFi is rubbish on the Eclipse. Some quite serious misgivings here by B&O. Not to mention the curtains being missing. When switching off it looks and feels like it has just crashed out very abruptly!
No doubt, a product of the modular approach taken to the Eclipse.
But in the end, shows that it was put together rather quickly - and the missing Bluetooth is surely an oversight?
Because how difficult can it be to put in a BT transmitter to the sound centre.
But given how rubbish the BT was in the BV14, maybe a good thing they left it out!
Sandyb:But in the end, shows that it was put together rather quickly - and the missing Bluetooth is surely an oversight?
waiting a long time doesnt necessarily mean the product had a long development time....
leaving out BT seems either (a) an oversight or (b) a strange but deliberate omission.
If its (a), that suggests the product development was a bit lacking or a bit hurried.
If its (b) i'd love to know why BT was deliberately left out, assuming this is indeed the case (i.e. no BT)
It's down to the architecture, which for the Video & Video sound part is : LG.
No more no less! Even the Eclipse manual says: "LG describes..."
Face it: The days of The BeoSys are gone and when you cant touch the video part, compromises are inevitable.
FunFact : The LG TVs usually have a VERY comprehensive Service menu, But The Eclipse is not a stock C7, - or is it ?
Let the games begin.
elephant: Sandyb: But in the end, shows that it was put together rather quickly - and the missing Bluetooth is surely an oversight? Quickly ?!?!? Doesn’t the strategic alliance go back the days of Tue ? I felt we waited two years for this product !

I heard about an LG/B&O tv round about one and a half years before it actually hit the shops.
Of course B&O could not use the stock LG audio software (which includes BT-out).
That would have meant, that you would only get sound from the sources of - or connected directly to - the LG tv-part.
How about waiting for some kind of official explanation, why there is no output.....from the SoundCenter.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I for one would love to get an "official explanation" but I'm not convinced we're ever going to get one. I've been waiting some considerable time already without a hint of an answer!

You won’t get one or they will tell you it’s by design, or maybe it’s the same obscure reason why the BV11 does not have a headphones jack - I gave up trying to figure out B&O’s feature implementation process...
BT output is part of the LG TV so you can only send audio via BT from the sources connected to the pane itself, not the Soundcenter.

Strange. My wife and I are in the same situation, but as long as you pair each headphone to a single device (you cannot rename them so you will always see “Beoplay H7” for example) our idevices di not get confused, we often use them at the same time (until we kick the baby out of our room!).
We also connected two BT adapters to the BV10 headphone jack and while the quality is not great (lot of white noise) it works.
Emil Jensen: As I wrote in another thread, DTS-HD is now supported
I was not aware of that. Even B&O official website does not mention it... crazy.

For what would you need this decoding capacity in the SoundCenter?

Many Blu-Ray nowadays are DTS-HD Master Audio (or Dolby TrueHD, still unsupported by B&O).
