I am no longer able to access Spotify on the BeoSound 5. I guess it is no longer supported. Is there another music streaming system that is supported? If there is, how do I access the app to get it working on the BeoSound 5?

I found this guy on e-bay (http://r.ebay.com/JVLFqP) and decided to try - and it worked! The job took less than 5 minutes and he was very detailed and professional in his instructions. I now have Spotify working as it used to do!
On top of this I succeeded in replacing my HDD with a SSD and the system is now superfast!

Hallo, ich habe mir die Spotify Lösung von Fixingit auch via ebay gegönnt. Der von ihm aufgespielte Patch funktioniert wunderbar. Das Spotify auf der Beosound 5 funktioniert wieder wie gewohnt. Covers werden wieder wie früher schön auf dem Display angezeigt. Einzig das Problem mit den von Spotify kreierten Playlisten ist vorhanden. Dies lässt sich aber einfach beheben, indem diese Listen einfach gelöscht werden.
Im Weiteren kann falls installiert über A.AUX auf das bereits bekannte Spotify-Connect zugegriffen werden. Mir macht die Anlage so wieder richtig Spass, so dass ich nun auf SSD umrüsten werde.
I to had this done, works really well. Did break once, but had it done on “warenty” and now it is up and running again.

Lol - just because it only takes a few minutes to install, does not mean it was “not difficult” to make it. Took me many months of reverse engineering and software development to find a solution. B&O can not provide this patch as they can not get a new commercial Spotify license based on libspotify.
What B&O could do (and should do) is to either provide a software upgrade with Deezer support as they have in their newer products, or use the newer Spotify APIs, allthough I am not sure they offer a full libspotify replacement yet....

I have a Crucial MX300 525 built into my 10 years old Beomaster 5 today. The system works much faster now and makes great fun with the installed Spotify patch from Fixingit. The Covers make the BS5 beautiful.
