Hi guys this is my first post here on beoworld. Me and my girlfriend just got the v1 but have had issue's with motion and movement. Everything from blu ray to tv, we had the guys from B&O come last night with a new set and it had the exact same problems. They have taken both tvs away and are going to log this with B&O, i was wondering if anyone else had any problems/issues with the V1?? The guys at B&O norwich have been fantastic! I cant rate them highly enough, just an utter shame the tv at the moment doesnt seem to be up to standards at all :(
Welcome Jimmy!
Sorry to hear about your problems with your V1. I've had mine for about 3 months and it's been fine except for needing powering off and on maybe twice - I'm very happy with it generally. Can you be more specific about these motion issues?
Jonathan
It was ghosting Really badly, worse then ive ever seen any tv ever. Imagen someone walking and the camera moving and the person is moving, one second the persons eyes were in the head the next in the chin lol smearing everywhere almost totally unwatchable, the guy from B&O was i think a little shocked at exactly how bad the problem was, and this is on 2 sets through the same playstation we use else where and never have a problem. They have been brilliant at trying to sort things for us, i actually (dare i say it) think the tv is incredibly good value for money. A tv with a built in speaker which is amazing and a processor for the surround sound plus all the other bits is much better i think then a non B&O product. But it doesnt have things like 3d which doesnt actually bother me, but still at £2500 for a 40" the one thing it Shouldnt have a problem with is picture quality i think that really is where it should Excell!
Hi jimmydean were you experiencing motion blur or juddering or even what looks like people moving in fast forward motion ie: soap opera effect?? reason for this question is because the v1 might have the motion enhancement switched on which can cause a bit of motion blur and the other symtoms i have just mentioned.
Also what is your resolution settings on your bluray player have you set it to the right output in the menu 1080p-24hz if you did these things then please ignore what i have written.

Hi Jimmy,
I had not exactly the same problems, but I solved them myself with following strategy:
1. Switch to Picture Mode "GAME"
2. Turn off the WLAN port of the V1
Now, I have no problems watching from my Apple TV or other HDMI source.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Shame the game setting isn't actually any good for 'Games'
Not only is game mode no good for games it also robs the tv of any kind of quality, ive seen tvs in the 100's that look as good. Almost seems pointless spending that kind of money to have the picture quality of a set many times less :S i shouldnt have to turn this on turn that off lol i want it to just work, most of the time im streaming things to the tv so i cant turn off the wlan setting
Yes, you are right. I have support request pending at B&O but so far no answer that is satisfactory. Probably we need a software update.
The guys at the shop wanted to take the sets away and ship them back to denmark. I believe on the 10th october a new set is coming but the "40 is around the £5k mark so Double the cost of the V1. Im not sure i want to pay double the price for a tv as the V1 doesnt work right. Im totally stumped for ideas as im tvless and playing the waiting game :(
I'd save up for a better TV in the B&O range . The 7 & 10 are in a different league.
The problem with cheap B&O kit is that it's just cheap - the same can be said for much of their stuff going back years - Beocentre 2000 from 1980 was cheap plastic crap when it came out , and some of the cheap nasty stuff b&o produced in the 80's is beyond belief.
You really do get what you pay for with B&O.
How do people rate the beovision 7 40" Mk4?

Ask Peter or one of the other mods - the general consensus is that the beocentre 2000 was a piece of plastic junk made in Japan.
I had a beocentre 4600 at the time and that was built like a tank in comparison.
I'm glad your's is still working though.
Well im going to look at a beovision 7 40" Mk4 on saturday, ive read mixed things some saying it was bettered by tvs of its time which is a bit worrying but hey i guess we will see?
Do a search on this site , there's been 5 versions of the bv7.
im wondering how it will look compaired to a modern new tv, i dont expect it to be better but at least the same?

The 2002 was a Japanese made music centre. It was priced as an entry model to the B&O range and was much cheaper than the contemporary Beocenter 7000. Considering its price, it fulfilled its brief and although it cannot really be compared to other B&O of the time, the record player and speakers were both good. I am delighted it is still giving good service.

I still think that the bv7 has an amazing picture with the 55" being one of the best led tv pictures that i have ever seen, i remember when i first demoed the bv7 mk3 i think with the kung-fu hustle dvd and the picture was so crisp with lovely rich colours and deep blacks and damn sharp i swear you could have jumped into the screen. Motion was very good and i'm sure the latest ones are even better.
I Really hope it blows me away, other wise it means buying a non B&O tv an av processor and doing it all ass about face lol
i currently own a loewe connect id 46" tv and i have too say that it's an amazing tv. The sound and picture quality is amazing and second only to bang-olufsen, blacks are deep motion crisp and sharp and very low motion artefacts it has 200hz processing and i'm generally very happy with it i know some on here don't like loewe but after demoing both the v1 and the connect the picture to me is on par with each other.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
No it is literally just the panel ive got to get the stand and a freeview hd tuner, with delivery its £2750 is this a good price?
Ask Lee who runs the site , he's bound to be able to help out.
That sounds about right price wise for the V1.
£2750 is for the beovision 7 40" mk4 not the v1. The bv7 will come with the tv a stand freeview box and install
Sounds like a very good deal
The BV7 is a superb TV
Make sure you get the correct speaker.
yeh not sure what centre speaker to get. The tv will go on a hifi rack an atacama rack so not sure the 7.4 will work. ive for a pair of lab 3's
Hi jimmydean can i ask if the price is for a secondhand bv7?
yeh second hand panel with no dvd or blu ray so just the panel and a non motorised stand plus install
That's a good price. Pm me if you don't buy it I would happily buy it at that price. Cheers good luck.

Sorry to jump on to this conversation so late, but I can certainly recommend the 7-40 MKIV. I had one for the last couple of years, before switching over to the BV10-46 (for the larger screen). Recommended. My two-year-old BV7-40 MKIV had a picture as equal to my current/new BV10-46, so the picture quality is excellent. The MKIV is the first BV7 I'd recommend (we've discussed the MKIII dark picture issues).
Can't be bad. Went looking for a B&O on the cheap , ended up with a real Bargain !!
:)

The only cheap thing here is the messages you are writing
Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2, BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century, BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i, BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40, BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)
Was that a joke ?
Hi there did you end up getting your mk4 7-40? If so are you happy with it? If not was you not happy with it?
Cheers

I purchased my V1-40 in may 2012. Initially I was very enthousiastic about it but numerous problems started to occur after a while ranging for abrupt shutdowns to software issues in the media player and lately even a green aurora that occasionally started to appear in black parts of the screen (see http://youtu.be/AokYmrCACG0 for a demo). By abrupt shutdown I'm not talking about the eco-mode but an abrupt shutdown where everything is turned off instantly (no closing curtains). There is also a disruption in all speakers when this occurs. The V1 restarts by itselfs but the image remains black and any external speakers remain turned off. When pressing a specifc source, the image of that source appears immediatly, external speakers turn on instantly.Within weeks after my purchase I started to notify my dealer as problems started to occur. Very little was done about it. I was told B&O Support was notified about the issues and kept on waiting for a so called solution. Whenever a software update was released (2 so far), I was asked to install it and let them know if I still had any issues. The dealer has been unable to confirm if any of the issues that I reported have been identified or addressed in any of these updates. I asked if they could provide me with any release notes of the software updates as these usually clearly state which issues have been addressed, received no response to that request. All the issues that I am experiencing occur occasionally. I was able to capture some on film and sent them to the dealer. So far I have not been able to capture the sudden shutdowns, the only way to do this is to put a camera on it whenever the tv is on and that's a bit rediculous. I can describe it best as a shortcircuit, the V1 shuts down abruptly and restarts. It wasn't until the green aurora started to occur (recently) that they (finally) decided to send a technician. I am currently waiting for them to contact me for an appointment.I have been a lifelong B&O fan but my confidence in the brand and the service has been seriously dented.
