Hi all Beoworlders.
Thought I'd just share my little project with you. I'm about to rebuild the 1 st floor of my house, where I'll have a 'banquet hall' /Bar -and a little 'museum' for my Vintage B&O stuff...
Here - a few days after I've started:
And a few weeks later:
And here, in temporary storage -some of the items:
To be continued...
Steffen
Quiet impressive - only 1 think i don't like is the shelving
Don't worry - be Happy
Just amazing, congrats Stefan, but do you need the 2 BM 1900 (2400) as support for the shelves
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Søren Mexico: Just amazing, congrats Stefan, but do you need the 2 BM 1900 (2400) as support for the shelves
Ha ha...Actually it's a BM 2400 and a BM 3000
Outstanding Steffan, can't wait to see the bar as well
How many B&O bottle openers will it have ... one for each visitor ?
If not, you might need one of these Danish contraptions that I saw in Skagan !
I can highly recommend it but maybe your lovely ceiling is a little low ?
BeoNut since '75

He he - I guess the ceiling is a little too low for that - but it looks nice
Until now, I only have 1 B&O bottle opener

Then you need the Skagan beer dispenser ... people might die of thirst while fighting over one B&O bottle opener
fantastic - green with envy
A Beomaster 800!

Hi Steffen,
Looks like you've got a nice white BM2000 there. But, unlike mine it either has a bullet hole or headphone plug at the left hand end. Or a badge.
Just what is it?
Graham
Hi all.
Thank you all for your comments
-and @ Graham: It is a badge (or sticker) on the white Beomaster. It was there when I bought it a few years ago. I can not see what was originally written on it (maybe it is from the store who sold it back then in the 70's).
Shall I add my collection in your museum? Can't wait....

I have here collected some old adds, my idea is to print them out after a little edit, frame them and hang them in my bar, if you are not able to download from the bucket just tell me and I will mail them to you

Piaf: Hi Steffen, Impressive! Very, very impressive! Now I don’t feel quite so bad about my B&O obsession and I thank you for that. My family won’t, that’s for sure, but I do! Jeff
Hi Jeff
Thank you for the kind words.
You should never feel bad about your B&O obsession When my woman commented on my urge to buy B&O, then I referred to her (and women in general) urge to buy new clothes and shoes, etc...It was a bit hard for her to answer to that...
Hi there
Here's a few more pictures from my project. (Only half-way through it)
Starting to move my collection into the room (though the room is far from finished yet):
The bar is going to be to the left, where the office desk is at the moment. I just need to finish the rest of the room first...
-to be continued...
What's that sofa doing over there, should be a Erik Jorgensen Rotor
Leslie: What's that sofa doing over there, should be a Erik Jorgensen Rotor
That cost as much as a BeoPlay V1 -or a lot of second hand B&O stuff...A man must make his priorities
If you're lucky you can have these for quite cheap! Marktplaats 1 and Marktplaats 2
Priorities indeed, I just acquired a second 2’ square B&O electric sign. This was is very different from my original, newer, but nice none the less.
pictures.......
Yes - pictures, please...
I haven't got it yet, but this was the eBay picture.
This is my first sign.
Piaf: This is my first sign.
'I saw the sign'... (Ace of Base)No sign of wear... -is that a good sign..? Arrrgh - don't get me started...
No - seriously. Congrats with your new sign.
Actually unlike my first sign, which I very much like better with the Royal Danish Crown and red logo, this sign has minor damage.
The seller had the auction set to begin at US$1,200 and was getting nowhere. I just knew the seller didn’t know what he was doing and I wanted to help so I explained a bit how auctions work: buyers want the “chance” of a bargain and will avoid any auction that doesn’t at least offer the opportunity.
I gave him the same advice I would myself, put the starting bid at the lowest possible price that you can bear to have the item sell and then hope for the best. So he relisted at US$400.
I don’t know what happened next as he stopped communicating and then the auction disappeared. Next thing I see that he relisted once again at US$199.
Being in-between jobs (currently doing contract work) this was not the time for me to be buying something I really didn’t need, especially while living on savings. None the less I watched in morbid curiosity as day after day there were no bids. I couldn’t understand it, because $200 is a darn good price of a big sign like that.
Then I received an apology for the lack of communication and a plea that I bid on the sign.
It was uncomfortable enough with a potential buyer giving advice to a seller and I made that situation crystal clear to the seller. However I had NO ideas that he would list the sign for $199 and since I had spent so much time telling him how to sell his sign I felt guilty not at least bidding on it.
So I did. I bid US$199 and waited to be outbid but wasn’t. I couldn’t believe it, a cool sign like that for $199!
Under my current financial circumstances this was an idiotic move on my part, but I can’t say I regret it. In fact I DON’T regret it, when will I get another chance like this again? Who knows?
The seller really did seem like a nice guy and he promised to pack the sign very well, which I believe. (He is getting almost as much for shipping as he did for the sign!)
I'm not jealous - but it's beauty
Why thank you Bob..... we'll see when it get's here.
Well - I guess that only hardcore B&O collectors (like us) would ever buy such a sign...so no wonder there wasn't a lot of bids. But strange that no other Beoworlder's were bidding... Maybe they just didn't see the auction.
I must say that the price starting at 1200$ was way over the top...but luckily You got it for a 'nice price' in the end. Good luck to you. And I hope that you'll soon get a good job again so you can afford more B&O stuff.
