Hi everyone, I have an old unit that I wish to resurrect. However I do not have any amplifier nor receiver to hook it up to atm. I understand that the cable is B&O proprietary and should be connected to another B&O unit. But does anyone know whether I can still use a receiver/amp of another brand by making some changes or using some sort of cable adapter? Wish to bring this back to life for my dad. It's not able to power up so basically I am starting from scratch here. Any ideas/advice/recommendation would be much appreciated. Thank you.

As i understand, the pins 1 & 7 ?  are for data only (remote control)

You can unscrew these and get a 5-pin Din->Rca Cable.

They are really rather good cassette decks - HX-Pro means any cheap tape will sound pretty good and the recording levels can be either auto (good for radio) or manually set. I have a couple which I rarely use but still work fine. Of course their purpose in life has been rather reduced since Spotify etc but I still have some tapes of old relatives talking about the members of the family.

How should I do this? Don't know how/where to unscrew the pins?

You can get a nice cable from Steve at Sounds Heavenly. However, I thought you said your Beocord does not power on.  It sounds like your cassette deck has bigger issues than a cable. I would recommend getting the tape deck functioning first where a tape is playing before worrying about the cable.

Yes. It doesn't power on. Will need to get it fixed up but in order to test sound, I'll need to figure out the input/output connections eventually. Might as well start checking now. Big Smile
