Ferdinand:Hi, just announced on facebook, updates H8i and H9i, i only scanned the information quickly but the ‘dual connectivity’ is something that many people where missing.
Are we sure about the 'same' battery? So long as those remain the same, I think i'll remain happy with my existing H8's H9's... although dual connectivity would be cool... need more details i guess.

Don't know if it's actually the same battery. Fair point. I just noticed that the battery of the H9i has the same capacity (770 mAh) and charging time (2.5 hours) as the battery of the H9. I see from a picture that the battery slot on the headphones are differently designed, though. So I suppose the form factor may have changed.

One thing I've noticed from the photos on the Beoplay website is it looks like they've taken away the the removable/user replaceable battery which for a £450 pair of headphones is a dealbreaker for me :(
Oh nope it is replacable, just hidden away differently! Sorry.

If you look at the H9i product page on beoplay.com, and press the "battery" vertical panel, you see a picture of the H9i with the battery compartment partly open. Still looks user replaceable. However, the battery compartment no longer has a door along the edge of the earpad, like the H9. Instead, the entire aluminum disc that faces outward seems to be removable.

Ferdinand:Hi Henrik, Dual device connectivity is mentioned in the facebook post.
Henrik:Thanks! I must be the only person alive not on Facebook. -h.
More features, new design, but also a cost reduction in mind, I see : there is one articulation that disappeared, with it's big metallic arm. Its gives a simpler look, but maybe the comfort will be lowered...

Stopped using it around 6-9 months ago.
Much better ways to waste time than clicking on FB.

Helpful article i imagine, for those trying to work out what has changed, and what has not.....
Beautiful! I have used the last hour to return my H9 to the (non-B&O) store, for a full refund. Turns out it fell within the return policy. Then I went for a talk with my local B&O store. Seems like I will get my H9i wednesday, one week from now. Looking forward to it!
Lucky you, Henrik!
I actually got a notice e-mail about the new cans.... not really a FB guy.
Also, BeoPlay shows price point to be the same as the old models... at least here in the US.

I think they actually lowered the price, H8 used to be 499.
what bugs me is that they still seem to deliver the crappy pouch. My H8 actually broke in my backpack and while you can easily get a hardcase on amazon most are way to big and not very nice.

You can connect your H8i wirelessly with two devices at the same time, and with a range of more than 31 meters, you can stream music further from your device without interruptions.
Hope it's true for H9i also since the blog is about H9i even though the text state's h8i.
I doubt there can be functionality differences between H8i and H9i : they surely share the same electronics, otherwise that would be a questionable design regarding costs...
Ordered a pair. Time will show.
Aussie Michael:I think this new commercial is their best ever https://youtu.be/cVLSWtoCZgw

Thanks for the tip! I had to shazaam that music. Turned out to be "Head up high" by Oh Land. Nice!
Have the new H9i also Bluetooth 4.2 with aptX Low Latency? Like the H9?
On the Beoplay site stays only Bluetooth 4.2.

I use this it is excellent. It has room for all your connectors inside and you use it as a headphone stand when not travelling. Top quality design and construction, perfect for B&O. They have several items for other B&O products too.

The caseplay looks very noce but why is it so thick? 8 cm is a lot which bothers me with all the amazon cases as well.
But all that aside, B&O should provide someing suitable, they did have a decent case with the H3 which I recently started using again
@Aussie Michael: H4 still has the same type no (6436), so no update as of today.

The spec for the H9i states that you can connect to two devices, too.
