hi everybody,

I just bought a beovision 7-40 from one guy and I am quite happy with it but I cannot connect my Macbook air to the TV.;

specifications of the tv are below in case they help identifying the model;

Type No : 9354

Item No : 1817000

Serial No : 19097031

I am using a HDMI cable from laptop to tv; the tv has a DVI- HDMI connection in the back and that is the only way I can connect them; once both of them are on and connected through the HDMI cable, the laptop has one option in the top part saying " mirroring beovision 7" which comes active but there is no image on the tv ;

Can anyone help me please? I have tried going in the connections menu but don't know what is wrong as any option I choose on the "source" -still nothing is changed;

Could the HDMI connection in the back of the tv be damaged? but in this case the  laptop wouldn't see that option with the tv ( mirroring beovision 7 )

thank you;

any advice is very much appreciated

So good news is the Mac recognises the BV even to knowing the manufacturer and model

My assumption is that you have a settings issue in the BV

You need to assign the DVI port to a source and select the source via your Beo4

I have my Mac connected to the first HDMI port and Iassigned to the PC source

Turn on you BV

Press Menu on the Beo4

You will the be able to navigate the menus to find which AV ports and Sources you are using and then pick an empty one and set that up as say PC and DVI

Good luck !

Some menu screen shots for you

Yours should be similar

Press MENU

Select OPTIONS

Select CONNECTIONS

My Mac is on AV3 as PC connected to HDMI A

A BV7-40 with the type number 9354 must be a MK1 version.

Adding ‘PC’ to the List on Beo4 is required - in order to open the used input port called ‘PC’.

If sound from the Mac is requested, use seperate audio cables.

The connection panel will probably look like this:

The ‘DVI- HDMI connection in the back‘, that you mention, probably is an adapter already plugged into the DVI-port (?)

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV
