Hello all,

Does anyone know if the Picture Mute function completely turns off a Beovision screen?

or does it just make the screen black? (with backlit working in the background)

Thank you in advance!

Only turns screen to gray !

It is instantaneous in both directions.

No closing curtains, and no warm up.

It’s a very dark gray because it is black without being off !

Thanks Elephant!

Then Picture Mute function doesn't do what I hope it would (save of screen life and heat production during summer)

Thx elephant, you saved me from purchasing a Beo4 mk3 to replace my older Beo4 :)

Nop, my Beo4 MK2 does not provide P.Mute in Add to List. Oh well, no biggy since it doesn't turn screen completely off anyway..

Back in the days with Beolink 1000 & MX7000 it was "picture" and "mute" -  something like this must also be at beo4 mk2 and mk1

Hi, I think you’ll find after a ‘while’ it goes completely black and off. I use this function regularly as I listen to music through an Apple TV.

Initially when I chance volume or speaker type this displays in the top middle but after a while, when screen completely black and off nothing is displayed at all when changing volume

I can confirm on my BV8-40 : at first it turns the screen black (backlight stays on, and infos like volume appear on screen). Then after 1min the backlighting turns off and the screen is completely dark. I use this in a cinema setup.
