Hello,
Unfortunately the bottom tweeter on one of my beovox c40 speakers is not working now. I opened it up and can't see anything obviously wrong (like wiring) so I'm unsure of what to do. It's an audax HD 9*8 D 25 8-9 ohms. Does anyone know of a decent replacement or possible common problem/diagnosis for these speakers.
Thanks.
I never saw an Audax tweeter in one of these. Can you tell me the serial number of that speaker ?
Martin
think it's 2389. I'll try and get some images posted.

I found this:

Yes, that's my listing. But it doesn't seem to fit your speaker unless yours were modified at some point.
Type 6322 should have a SEAS tweeter.Type 6324 early version should also have a SEAS but only up to s/n 2481001, hereafter a Philips.
My guess is that yours originally had a SEAS but it was replaced at some point.Have you checked the other speaker to see what's fitted there ?
The other tweeter is the same, strange?
Did you find the serial number ?
hd9x8d25 - I found some info here:

Did you find the serial number of your C40 Speakers.
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
ah sorry. 1803084.
Looks very much like the SEAS so will probably be original. The serial number points to very early production individuals.
Thanks, I've found a replacement coil here:
http://www.falconacoustics.co.uk/audax-rw025a0-voice-coil-tw025a0-hd100d25-hd9x8d25-tweeter.html
Would this be all that is needed?
Check continuity on your own tweeter first.Use an ohmmeter across the terminals (tweeter out of speaker circuit).Anything above 10-12 Ohms points to a bad coil.
Thanks for help. It is a bad coil.
