This was before I caught the virus, so I fitted a Blaupunkt. But an amazing travel car, the problem with it, was that I got too many speed tickets, with the quiet and soft driving, one forgot the speed.

After I painted by beogram 1000's plate once more this morning, I jumped in the car for a nice drive. Actually, the drive was terrible as it was only highway and rain, but the goodies are great!
I got myself a beomaster 7000!
It came with a nice beocord 7000 with a tape stuck in it, I'll get back to that later.
Furthermore the deal consisted of: A beogram 4002. The mmc 4000 needs a new needle, fortunately I've a mmc 20 somewhere :-)
A beocord 1900, ugly as hell but in a very nice condition.
And least but not least I got myself a second beocord vx7000 and a beolink passive with an IR eye!
I won't be bored tonight, but I think I have to visit a doctor tomorrow as the virus is spreading too fast!

I had a "bad" weekend - working Saturday - not able to order the new remote - consequently no Essence purchase - and then my wifi router (Time Capsule) started to look like it was on its last legs. I think it’s time for an update from me again. In other terms that means that I've got even less space again. I've got hold of quite a few items in the past two weeks. What looks to be a BM2200, a BG3400, 2xBC5000 and a BeoCenter 7700 was the first purchase:
Lots of projects, as everything was bought as nonfunctional. The ones that have followed this thread know that often when I buy something then it either has a red label on it or differs from other devices in some way – or both! And why should that have changed this time?
I managed to find another BeoCord 5000 that has BeoCord 6000 written on it. The other one I have has number 96 and this one has number 104 as you can see, so there must be more of these out there.
It has had a bit of a rough life, so it will need some TLC at some point. Maybe I'll use the BeoCord 5000 I bought as a donor. That wasn't the only red labelled device though. The BeoGram 3400 is an early sample as well. Take a look:
It would be nice to know the logic behind the numbering system on these ones – if there is any at all! I’ve noticed at least one pattern though. Many of the products with red labels I've seen have their type numbers written with ‘89’ in front of them. BM4401 = 892416, BM6001 = 892251, BC5000 = 894705 etc. So that probably indicates that it’s an early sample.
Just a little bonus info: They are probably not that common in other countries than Denmark, but if you live in Denmark – especially in or near a city, where there is or used to be a B&O factory – it isn't uncommon to find B&O equipment from the 80s and 90s that has a little white label saying ‘8411’ on them. That means that the device was bought by a B&O employee directly from B&O. Take my BL3000s as an example:
I also bought a pair of BeoVox RL45 last week. I haven’t tested them yet, as the ABRs need refurbishing. They also need some new fabric but hey; you are stupid if you don’t buy these for £8 including wall brackets and even with all of the straps intact.

It's a door handle from a B&O dealer. I bought it from someone whose mother worked in the advertising business, and she received it as a gift after doing some work for B&O.
Last Tuesday was a good day as well, and probably the best “deal” I've made recently. A nice lady was giving away a BeoCenter 1800, a BeoCord 2200, a BeoVision MX4000, a BeoTalk 1100, a BeoTalk 1400, some accessories and the best of all; the BC1800 was equipped with a MMC20CL! The BC1800 should have some problems with the turntable, but the rest should work. The tip on the MMC20CL looks good, but I haven’t tested it yet, as I don’t have a compatible, working BeoGram to test it with. But if it works it will fit perfectly on my BeoGram 6000.
Hopefully I will soon get time to start working on some of all these beautiful products, and I will probably start my own workbench thread to hopefully give you some inspiration and to keep myself going. My B&O hospital (aka workbench) is at least almost ready take in patients, and I've found the best staff available. I recently added a B&O Voltmeter RV11 and a B&O Power Supply SN16 to my wall of B&O measuring instruments. The huge power plug was used in a B&O window display back in the 80s by the way.

A beautiful and fully operational Beocenter 7700 from the years between 1983 and 1986 has returned home.
With the furniture SC 50 and the remote control Beocenter Control Module but without speakers, pickup and the more skilled two way remote control Master Control Panel 7700. I owned right this individual earlier, until the spring winter 2012 and since then some other persons has disposed it. But now it is back in my possession!
Beautiful woodwork in jakaranda/palisander/rosewood and these huge aluminum panels, on the this just this model also over record deck. A really beautiful but also technical skilled integrated system with record deck, radio, cassette player and amplifiers on 2 x 40 watts. I will link it to a pair of Beovox Pentas but also try it with Beovox S80.2 as well as S4500.
Dennis, you are so lucky to find all of these amazing things. The prototypes in particular are so interesting! Keep us posted with your work on these bits!

Me too! And I would love it even more, if I knew where to put it all! I love your BeoSystem 6000 by the way - it looks stunning. I just got my prototype BeoMaster 6000 Quad home yesterday after having had it in storage at my fathers place. Completely forgot how beautiful it looks! And how heavy it is... Hopefully I will get my BeoSystem 6000 running at some point. I'm a bit in doubt about refurbishing it though. One part of me tells me that it deserves to be used while the other part says that it's a prototype and therefore should be kept completely as it is. Maybe it's just because I'm looking for an excuse to buy another BM6000.

A pair of Beovox S4500 and an other pair of Beovox S80.2, both in jakaranda/palisander/rose wood, both with stands, no damages, clean and operational. The woofer elements in S80 is not dealt with but not neither rot. I will get rings and fix them some time but not in near time.
Now the Beocenter 7700 will be strained hard with these both pairs and a pair Beovox Penta.

I found an add yesterday, that almost made my heart skip a beat! I usually check a few different webpages every day – often several times a day - to see if there are more things I want to add to my collection. Yesterday it had been quite a few hours since I last checked, so around midnight I took a last check before I went to bed. Suddenly I spotted a very special number on my computer screen: 4401! Sadly the pictures showed a silver one, but it’s still a BeoMaster 4401, so I had to have it! The 4401 wasn’t the only special thing announced though. The sale included a pair of BeoVox 3800 on trumpet stands. Some of you may think “what’s so special about BV3800?”. Well, they were made for the UK market only, so to find a pair of these in Denmark is still quite special even though this is the homeland of Bang & Olufsen. So I immediately sent a message to the seller and then I spoke with him this morning. I picked it up this afternoon, and I even got a pair of BeoVox C40 thrown in the deal. Take a look at the beauties (Sorry for the mess in the background - I'm in the progress of installing my new furniture):
The BeoMaster 4401 looks to be in pretty good condition under all of the dirt. It has no. 1732 and the other silver one we know of has no. 1721. Mine says ‘BeoMaster 3000’ on the power supply as well. I noticed another difference from the regular BM4400s – there’s an extra line on each side of the slider control scales except from the tuning scale.
The BV3800s on the other hand are a bit tattier. They will need some veneer repair here and there, the stands could use some elbow grease and one of the midranges has a damaged cone, but I think they will come out just fine. Does anyone know where to get cloth for the frets that is similar to the original? It seems to be made of some pretty thick plastic threads. Although I’m not a huge fan of the boxy design, I’m still glad to have them in my collection, as they are quite rare here in Denmark. They both have white labels on the back and behind the frets saying ‘8411’ which tells me that they were bought by a B&O employee directly from B&O. Probably the only way to get your hands on a pair of these back in the days; if you weren't living in the UK that is. I doubt that anyone made a trip to the UK to buy a pair of BV3800s, but I could be wrong of course!
The C40s are a bit strange. There is no lettering on them, and they don’t look resprayed. No label to be found on them either – wonder if there’s one on the inside? They could be early samples as well. The seller told me, that he bought it (at least the 4401 and the 3800s) from someone who worked at Bang & Olufsen, so it’s plausible.
