Thank you! Were do I get my free bumper sticker?

Big Smile Those are extremely rare. You need the Thorens Beogram 3000 to get one I hear.

My latest addition is this DVD2. I got it very cheap - 300,-DKKr (roughly £30 / 55 USD)
Not that I needed it Whistle - but it looks good with my #2 tv - Beovision 1.

Years ago, I was hoping for a well designed DVD player from B&O - But then came the 'clumsy' DVD1, which I never liked as it was the same box as the VHS Beocord V8000...
So back then I bought a Harman Kardon DVD31, which look more 'Classic B&O' than the B&O DVD1. The designer must definitely have been looking at Jacob Jensens work. (but JJ would have made the DVD-tray black...) Have a look at this:

I have to confess, that my main TV is not B&O... Embarrassed  It's a 50" LG Plasma. I prefer plasma screens - but the 'old' BV 4 has too low resolution, and the newer ones are still a bit too expensive for me. And the BV 12 with it's 65" is a little too big for me (and expensive).

Great Steffen ! Yes - thumbs up

I really like the DVD2 look.

What a pity B&O did not launched a blu-ray player with this look...

You're absolutely right. But streaming killed the Blu-ray... Well, it's not quite dead yet - but...

Really a shame, as the Picture from a Blu-ray disc is still better than most streaming. Most HD streaming that I have seen, is not as good as Blu-ray. Just like many HD tv channels are not Full HD but only 720p. But -as with music - most people don't care.

I've just picked this up from the chap who bought it new. I'm not sure what to do with it and am quite scared to use it. Why, you ask. Well at the moment it actually seems to work! It feels like the insides contain nothing but lead it's so heavy and having never held a 6000 commander before I can now see why it's referred to as a "brick".

Beaker that is stunning!

I have one in Rosewood but I've always thought they look brilliant in white. I had mine completely restored which I was told was a hideous job, but it is still going strong luckily.

did you get the matching Beogram and Beocord?

Ben:

No Beocord but it did come with the Beogram and 4 P50's, all white and all drivers working. I must admit it is beautiful. The tuning dial is a bit sticky and doesn't like it if you go to the ends on the dial but apart from that its so far so good. Ive ordered a battery for the commander as its currently dead but I was told it works and have no reason to doubt it. I'm not sure if I dare open the Beomaster to do anything, I think I'll just leave it well alone!

Haha! I can't tell you that! Actually I used to work in an off licence (wine shop) in a very rich area and just talked to the customers. There were a couple of dealerships near by and people always knew I would give any old B&o a good home. I did have to pay for this but I'm sure I could get a tidy profitWink

Anyway here it is with its partner.

Great stuff you have Richard! You could play quad records now since you have the 4 P50's as well.

I have been searching for Beovox M70, M75, S75 for some time now, Several has turned up the last year or so, but I lost 2-3 auctions, where prices went wild, or it was buy now and too expensive, or pick up only.

But now I found a pair of M70, sold without grills, but with Rich´s excellent thread in the Archive that wont be a problem, Rich also did a tremendous job on the crossovers, I´m not going to do that, but keep it to the cheaper line of caps.

They have some nicks and marks, but nothing I cant repair, the missing cables makes me wonder, but maybe the seller will sell these separately, but not to me.

I think that you will be pleased with what the M70 can do. I love mine. The hardest thing is to find the trumpet stands. I did pay 250€ for my pair (near-mint) but they came with their stands. The speakers are 4Ω, not 8 (I have the review with measurements).

The cone midrange speaker units are prone to suffer from the dreaded 'lose magnet' syndrome, so the speakers should be carefully transported. My doubt is that seing the nicks on the photos they will already be faulty.

When I bought mine (local pickup) I verified this at the seller's place. What does the seller say?

I bought these for USD 105.00, but shipping and handling came to USD 80.00, UPS ground shipping from Colorado Springs, Colorado to McAllen TX, where I have to pick them up, when I get time to get there. The seller says that , they are working and sounding very good,

The seller has 6 years on the bay, some 3,900 items sold, 99.8% positive feedback and is selling mostly vintage electronics.

So I am worried about the transport, and the driver magnets, but on the other hand, my P45s went through the same ordeal, and they arrived without damages. And as the M70 had several driver changes during production, and I think that only some of these drivers are prone to loose magnet, I took the chance and bought them. If the magnets are loose I will have to repair them.

There is a pair of trumpet stands on the bay right now, but I´ll have to count my pocket money, I will bid on them but I´m sure they will go beyond my limit.

I hope to get to McAllen in late November, and if all goes well I will play these through my BM 4400 on Xmas eveningSmile

Nice pic, 45° left behind the trumpet stand, The M70 grill makes me wonder why they made it that way, and not with the holes where the drivers are. Beautiful speakers Jacques, even the fly looks good with them.

Now post me a close up pic of the M70 badge/pin, if I dont find a pair I´m going to get some made.

Yes - welcome to the club.  I have spare drivers if it comes to that.

The cone phase link is the driver subject to the magnet issue, not the (dome) midrange.

No!

Not that I'm a purist, but because the record player is as beautiful as it is and where it is. (The old one that is) What is the name of the thing?

Actually, record player works, while 5500 don't.... It is Master 41 RG, from early 1940 (?)

Hi Orava,

very nice old RG! Is it the Master 41 RG? I have a picture of very similar RG, which is without Turntable and is called Master 41-S:

And I agree with tamtapir, it should stay as it is. Those are two nice B&O items but from different era and together it would not be the perfect match. But this is only my opinion.

I had similar consideration on my Beovision 2000 RG. I thought that the missing TV could be replaced with some of the new generation B&O screens (such BV 6-23 or similar) but I gave up this idea and I will let the thing in original state (temporary without TV in it).

Regards

My latest addition arrived today - a nice Beocord 2000 De Luxe RtoR recorder.  Looks to be very clean and tidy.  Now I just need some more reels!

I may set this up alongside my Beolab 5000 system.

Dave.
