Unfortunately my scanner wasn't functioning so I made some pictures. When in functions again I'll post a scan.
For some mysterious reason I'm not able to upload a better picture of the preamp board as I get a "maximum request length exceeded" error each time....

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Oh My God!
a) Was it because something came down?
b) The neighbors call the emergency services because of an earthquake?
c) You could not imagine your setup would sound so much better?
Leo, beautiful addition to your setup

Tell me about it. The BL2 is the mother of all subwoofers. Seriously. I love that beast. Congratulations! I can't imagine the sound with your lovely Pentas!

OK now i can see your set-up and that's not what I visualised which is good.
The set up isn't bad, and because i have never seen Pentas before in the flesh, i never knew they were actually more balanced with the BV7.
I'm going to try and mount my BL Cable Box on the wall so I will let you know how I go with that because you could do the same vertically behind the BL centre speaker.
I would push your Pentas wider and bring the BS3200 to the front and reposition the trunk and change those curtains. Presently it's heavy and just need to increase the white space if that makes sense...
I love your PS4, have you considered a different location?
And glad you get the same enjoyment lol :-)
How about putting all devices into the trunk, drilling a hole for the cables into the back, and a few ventilation holes also into the back, pushing the trunk to the left of the center speaker and the BL 2 to the right. wrapping all cables coming out of the trunk to the tv in a hose?
Counterargument may be the historic, emotional value of your trunk.
leosgonewild: I will put the BL4000 next to the Pentas and plug them as rears. That way I can do a pretty nice sound comparison

If you want to do that kind of comparison, you should connect them as fronts too.
Just daisy-chain them from the Penta's on either side.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I use a icepower amp that I built myself, so no daisy-chaining possible. My thought was to Assign the pentas as fron and the BL4000´s as rears, and then put the system in 2x stereo mode. That way the volume will be the same, and I can simply turn one speaker pair off while listening to the other.
If I had the possibility to daisy chain them, it would still be the problem present that the Beovision wants to know what kind of speaker is connected. Or does it not matter?
Oops - I should have noticed, that your Penta's don't have the original amp
So, the way you intended to do it, probably will be the best - running 'double stereo'.
Personally I would run my set up (for stereo content) with the Penta's for a couple of days. And then change to the BL4000 for another couple of days.
I don't like 'quick switching comparisons'!
Listening to one setup with a variety of material (that you know well) for some time, and then doing the same with the other setup makes more sense to me.
This way you could also in/exclude the BL2 to see, what suits you (and the room) best in the long run.
Did you also try them further away from the back wall?
leosgonewild:Posted the pic in the wrong tread. More air between the Pentas and the TV did a lot.
leosgonewild:I think moving them 10cm away from the back wall will look better. But I will also move them a little bit closer to the television. The white space is a bit too big now in my opinion.
Hi, I think this is the right thread for showing off my newest addition.
After reading almost all the Beogram 8000 threads in the archive, I felt up to the task of partially restoring a 8000 of my very own. Why a Beogram 8000? Because my stereo system is missing a turn table, and the eddy-current electromagnetic drive is very cool.
I disassembled the turn table, removed all the old foam tape, cleaned the metal parts and reattached the trim with 3M - Very-High-Bondage (VHB) double-sided tape. I replaced the tachometer wheel and servo drive belt with parts from Dillen. I reassembled everything and fixed some alignment issues. The cartridge was broken when I unpacked it. I sent it to Axel for a new tip. I do not think this turn table was ever opened before, the fasteners show no sign of wear. The cosmetic condition of this unit is very good. I followed the advice and left the cleaning brush out. I did not touch the electrolytics. I'm a mechanical expert, not electronics. If I have electronics issues in the future, I may take it to an expert for a professional recap. Here is the end reult, playing a test LP.
Yes its the right place Brian and a very nice job done, congratulations
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
Absolute beauty
My latest addition is a pair of Beovox MS 150.2. I got them very cheap: 600 DkKr (approx. £ 60 or 90US$) - mostly because the seller had changed the 10" woofers to some UNoriginal - and had thrown the originals away!!!Offcourse the 8" needed new foam/rubber surrounds. But besides from that the cabinet were quite ok -and I got an extra set of frets -that needs new fabric as the previous owners cat gave them a hard time...
Here they are as I bought them:
Then I gave them some new rubber rings:
-and here they are in my test-setup with my newly recapped BM 4000 (with caps from dillen):
-Sounds fine... But now I must go looking for some original 10" woofers - or at least some that looks more like the originals..." />
Bad luck Steffen, but I´m sure Martin can help. As for the extra frets I think Sonavor is looking for some

You're right. I will send Martin a PM. And I have already got e-mail from Sonavor :-)
Unlucky Steffan but a very good find nevertheless!
and still a bit of a bargain!
Ben
You're right Ben - it was a bit of a bargain.
Sadly Martin didn't have any woofers. They are quite rare these days. As I wrote - they sound ok...but I will go looking for some that at least look more like the originals.
I have been searching for 4 years, one time I missed it by 5 minutes but now after a little bargaining it should be on the way shortly,
I cant say how happy I am to join this owners club, but as it is not yet shipped and arrival confirmed I remind myself of the old English saying, "dont skin the cat before you sold the meat", (or something like that)
I have looked at photos in detail, there is missing one push button and both units appears to be very dirty so I expects a big job coming up, which I will do going very deep into all details,
So here it is
Beolab 5000
Beomaster 5000
Beolab bottom
Beomaster back
Numbers, as you see US types, BM series 01, BL series 00. the pics I got from the seller, and had to pull out the numbers from bigger pics.

Thats a healthy lust Elephant.
Nice one Soren and better yet a 110v version. You won't know yourself when you have them up and running.
Glad to hear someone found a use for cats !
At last Søren! Welcome to the club!
Will you restore them yourself?
By the way
You'll need this too.
Jacques
Ben_S:Yes, many congrats Søren. One of the best pieces of kit that B&O ever made. You will have to find some BV5000s and cubes next! Ben
You will have to find some BV5000s and cubes next!
Of course you will. Four more years
But seriously, it took me almost three.
As for the Cubes, I was lucky. I contacted someone who had just sold a pair on eBay, and the final buyer didn't pay for them! The seller was in Paris and I arranged for direct collection.
leosgonewild:
Aussie Michael:Leo i prefer those speakers to the Pentas, however i would move your BS somewhere else as it's like there are too many stands. Decisions decisions :-)

The Beolab 5000 will be in September, I have to pick it up in McAllen as usual and then my son will bring spares from Martin, but now I started on this one BTW my BM 1000 Bg 1000 is now my most played B&O, driving the M70s like a charm not as good as the BM 4400 but it comes close
Now on the way from Boston to TX should arrive this week.
