Finally one project finished.
I received this nice old Grand Prix Moderne 610 6 months ago in not so good shape. It was not working, with broken knobs and antenna holder and with marks on the glass scala, actually damaged color on 4 places on it.
After lot of work (not lot made by me, thanks Iz and Bo) and few hundred km's traveling around, this amazing piece of real B&O Vintage came yesterday home. Now the last thing is to find nice place for it.

beaker:That looks great! You've all done well. On mine I found the hardest bit was trying to improve the lamp holders because the plastic had deteriorated and gone brittle due to the heat. If I listen to mine for a while the lamp heats up and the holder springs off across the room.

thanks but as I said, it wasn't my work. Two friends of mine did the job and I agee, it was a very good job. First of all, they made a completely new coloration for the top part of the glas scale. It is as good as original, in my opinion.
Yes, the lamp holders are always the problem on this models from early 60's. I have another Master de Luxe 608 with this problem and I am still looking for 2 spare lamp holders / knobs for it. Unfortunately B&O didn't calculate with the fact that there are some "very strange persons" who would have an idea still to use this radios after 50 years And the plastic is simple not so good to resist these heat after so many years...
I just bought a Beocom 6000 base advertised as a 'Dummy Charger'. Out of curiosity I opened it up and found this inside:
It just needs the PSU. I wonder if all the dummy chargers had cabling inside?
This afternoon I have ordered a pair of BL17 + stands + wireless transmitter. I will pick it up Saturday the 26th and will post a 'unboxing' topic later.
I did the purchase in the B&O store in central Copenhagen. The professionalism and enthusiasm of the staff surprised me very positively. It was a great consumer experience for me. The experience included coffee and chocolates and despite that being minor details - it was important for me to complete the afternoon. And I got a nice discount on the stands as well.Last but not least, the sound / performance of the speaker was incredible.
Here is a picture of the speakers in their window display. I was told that future BL17 sets will not come with the ice-fret any longer, these have to be extra ordered then. I will get them with the ice-frets actually.
My Beolab-system has a new member: the exceptional Beogram 1800 from the years 1969 to 1972. It is a quite nice designed device that is in optic very delicate shape. The cabinet is in rose wood while the upper side comprises one piece of aluminum, like the edge on the lid. The upper side of the lid is of plexiglass.The vendor said that it does not work and therefore I have not yet dared to turn it on. I can hardly think of a better-looking record player to this system.
More completions of the Beolab 5000-system: two pcs of the nice Beovox 2500 “cube”, tweeters with six cone elements each, in order to improve the sound picture. Now linked to existing Beovox 4000.

Very interested in your posts - as a recruited B & O fan from the mid-1980s having resurrected by Beocenter 2200 and then thought that it wouldn't work and purchased a refurbished 4000 series, along with CDX2 CD player - one system in living room and the other in the dining room. For my sins as well as I am an International Championship Show judge and travel quite a lot in Europe, Russia, America and of course, the UK and Ireland - I am interested to know do B & O have a museum of sorts located near to Copenhagen as I fly in and out of that airport when I judge in Malmo Sweden. I am going later this year and it would be interesting to visit as I usually have to arrive a day early or leave a day later and stay in Copenhagen.

Mine looks to be a bit of a wreck but a good summer project nonetheless!
It has been a while since I added something to my collection, but not long ago I got myself a MkII BV7-32 (just the TV) for a rather fair price... my first B&O LCD
It will replace my BV3-32 but before I will need to get at least a floorstand for the TV.

I succeeded to repair the tonearm, but the motor will not work. Well, it sort of works but has too strong friction. I believe that what keeps the brass plate on the other side has come loose. Someone that has a motor for BG 1800? Perhaps one from other model will work as well?

But back on topic! I bought a BeoMaster 6000 with BeoMaster Terminal and a BeoCord 8004 yesterday for roughly £14/17€. I've had both plugged into my B&O RT12, and at first hand they both seem to work, but come with the usual issues; slipping belt, missing LED elements and faulty belts in the BeoCord. So... another project among the 100 others I have going on, but hey, for 14 quid...
These units are probably some of the later ones made. The serial number on the BeoCord begins with 3 (the label is missing on the BM, but I will probably find one inside once I go in there) and the power chords are black. The condition of the units seems to be OK, and I think they will clean up just fine. The BeoMaster has some marks on the lower aluminium panel and a little piece of the wood trim on the front is missing. In turn, the BeoCord looks to be in close to mint condition.

A nice companion to my BM1200, a BM1001
Today has been a very fruitful day! After spending the morning on the water teaching sailing to children I bought some fun stuff:
The beogram 1000 was only €10 but needs a new needle. The motor works good. I think I'll replace the belt as it shows some little cracks. The biggest challenge will be finding a counterweight as none came with it...
The stone bottle you see on the picture is Beerenburg F.S.O.B. (Frysk Superieur Oeralde Bearenboarch, Frisian Superior very Old Beerenburg) which tastes insanely great but is probably nowhere on earth available except for The Netherlands.

In case anyone was wondering what my BeoMaster 4000 (5000) I bought a few months ago looks like on the inside, here are some additional photos (Click on them to see them in a better resolution):

At this stage there was still no printing on the boards as you can see. I have a BeoMaster 2400 that doesn't have printing on the board either - no labels to verify if it's an early model though.
It could be interesting if someone could supply similar pictures of a BeoMaster 5000, so they could be compared.

I just found a U70. Pads need replacement, and even though it is cosmetically far from perfect, I really like it!
