Hi everyone,
We'll have another great show for you this Sunday, a special one.
Special Steve @ SoundsHeavenly is joining once again and John from B&O Manchester too (if he doesn't get too stuck in traffic )
If anyone has any questions for these fine gentlemen you can leave them on here, email me or come join us live in the YT live chat! I know I'll have some specific questions for the Cable King for certain projects
Hope to see you all there!
-Michael

Sure. Try reflecting at John o'Manchester that question from last week's chat: [Has B&O has told dealers] what's in firmware 2.0 that superseded 1.X? Big version number change; what did they actually do?!? Thanks from me & from that visitor whose screen name I can't remember. [Edit: Mainly I care about ASE 2 devices, in my case BeoSound 1 2Gen non-GVA, but if I read the posts correctly, ASE1 got a version number change too.]

@Miki
Nice video - but you are a bit late to the party.
The Hall device was mentioned e.g. here on the forum half a year ago:
https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/48685/345304.aspx#345304
It was introduced pretty exactly a year ago - I ordered one of the first ones in February 2021 to do some tests (I made a review - on a danish forum shortly after).
I have since then helped set up a few of these and can testify that they work well, are indeed easy to handle.
However, there is one major issue with this device………..it is a 2 channel aka stereo device, which - of course - is not that much an issue when listening to music (which is 2 channel). But indeed it can be when using a tv as the source!
I do know that a lot of users aren’t paying much attention to this - but if you are used to listening to sound from a tv with connected speakers, you notice right away that you will depend on a phantom center channel by sitting in the sweet spot, dead center to enjoy the performance.
As soon as you move to the right/left the balance collapses and you hear the voices coming off the screen (to the right/left).This might be fine for the one person sitting in the money seat, but annoying for the friends and family members watching tv with you.
That is the reason why I always recommend using a BL7-1/2/6 with the streamer, if the main purpose is tv viewing (because the right/left speakers are pretty close to each other.
There is a reason why B&O for decades now have made tv solutions with a center speaker built in, respectively have made it possible to utilize the built in speaker/s as a center channel. This - by the way - started way back with the BV6000 and was called ‘Center Balance’……..long time before the built in multichannel processors became a default part of the B&O tv.
Also it is common knowledge that the center speaker is the most import speaker, when making up a multichannel setup with a screen.
This - imho - is the reason, why B&O would never lauch such a product (for sound from a tv) - it would be a step backwards!
As an example - as you know - the Stage soundbar has a pretty capable center unit.
If one however, is more into 2 channel music listening and only occasionally listen to tv, I would fully recomment the Hall streamer - it has lot of nice options for music/radio (you can even do multiroom, if you have more of these in the house). Grab a set of preowned Beolabs that fits to your room, your taste and your budget and you are good to go.
