It means you need to change the laser :)

Lots of threads about it, and it is not that difficult.

An upgrade to the laser?
What would it be, you are hoping to achieve?

Sorry, i mean what is the number for the laser, has there been a upgrade from the original laser. Or is it a specific laser for the 2300

The laser is most likely the CDM 12.4 version. If it is the version with curved laser, then it is not the laser that is the problem, but if it is the straight version going from middle to the buttom, then it is the 12.4 version. Beosound 3000 had the laser upgrade to VAU1255, but I have never seen this in the 2300.

But to be sure, you need to look at the unit in your 2300, to be sure. It will probably say CD PRO2 or something, and this is the CDM 12.4 laser that can be used for them. To be sure you can remove the laser, and be sure that the laser you get has the same numbering on the flatcable of the laser.

That cure won't last forever, sooner or later the laser will fail and will need to be replaced.

With internet: everything is easy, anyone can do it and they always tell the thruth ...:)

if it fails again and you don't have experience in repairs, tools, and parts, find someone who does to do this for you instead of risking to mess up your system.

someone who knows about this, can do the job in 1 hr tops..
