Ive installed a 6 tile, one amp Shape but im having problems with the set up. The product came up on the app as a shape, but didnt offer me a screen to put in the design ID.
What i have now is basically a core with some speakers attached. The app shows it as a core. Ive looked everywhere for advice, reset, and tried every possible way of rebooting it, as well as talking to my dealer.
Ive tried it via wifi, wired by cat 7, etc etc.
It strikes me as a software problem, but it is the latest release.
Is anyone else having this problem?
6 tiles, yes - but do you have 4 speakers?
The official guide for setting up (including entering the design ID) is here:

2 speakers
By the way, this video (and the app in it) is way out of date.
Duels:I thought you needed a minimum of 4 speakers to be able to use the set up algorithm and “band on the wall” feature of the shape.
Do you have a link to this information? Dealer unaware.

Ins’t there a confusion with 6 “tiles” (4 speakers, 1 amp, 1 core)?
Here's the 8 tiles I draw and the recommanded components ; note that this "recommanded" setup sports only 2 speakers
Even by setting the cursor to "maximum sound", there are "only"4 speakers ; I needed to add 1 more tile to access the 6 speakers possibility at maximum sound setup (with this very elongated - and not that nice - form)
It's 4 speakers per amplifier, not 6.
For 6 speakers you'd need 2 amps, at which point it would make sense to have 8 speakers. However that's making it quite a big shape.
My 6 tile (1x amp, 1 x core, 4 x speakers) amply fills my 5m x 3.5m room, and would go even louder.
Band on the Wall does work with 4 speakers - I can hear voices put to my middle 2 tiles only. I'm sure the impact would be greater with more speakers spread out.

The impression of a ‘band on the wall’ definitely needs at least 4 speaker (one amp) to work.
This was clearly communicated at the launch of the BS Shape.
The more speakers, the better the processing for the ‘band on the wall’ effect.
In this case your setup is ‘only’ a Core with two speakers.
You might be able to let it show up as a Shape in the app.
But it will never give you the desired impression of a ‘band on the wall’.....unless you sit directly in the sweet spot between the two speakers.
Why your dealer is unaware of this, I don’t know!

I quite like the designer, depending on your mood you can get rude words out of it!

Yes you can. But you will need the Core for the initial setup, as it transfers the design ID to the amplifier.
Afterwords you can replace it with any source that got a optical output. Tried it myself with a Sonos Connect hidden behind a tile and works perfect 👌🏼
Having issues getting the Shape setup correctly. Local B&O guys have been out 3 times now and they're coming back Friday. Seem to be hitting a wall. My shape design won't load (unknown error - how useful) and they've tried swapping out the core and the amps now too. I've 2 amps and 6 speakers. Also seems to be an issues driving the speakers correctly connected to the 2nd amp (very faint and get a crack when you connect or sometime when you change tracks).
They seem to be at a loss but are going to try and swap cables etc.
Anyone been through this or can give an tips at all?
Here are the recurring items in the log file
Soundwall: Failed to update firmware
Soundwall: Enter error stat, SlaveUpgradeFailed
If you go into setup you get:
Status: Error
Number of amplifiers: 2
Design ID: N/A
Name: N/A
Error Message: SlaveUpgradeFailed
A2B Message: ready
If I try and load design I enter the Design ID then it finds it and show me the correct image and says does our picture match your shape design? I click Yes then it spins and says Unknown error
Any help would be massively appreciated!
Thanks

Try to go to the configuration tool and build your Shape design once again.
You will now get a different design ID for the same design. Try the new design ID.
This sometimes solve the problem with the “Unknown error”.
BTW: When making a factory reset of the Core it will only reset the 1. amplifier.
So to reset amp 2 you will have to connect it directly to the Core and make a factory reset once again.
Hope some of this can help you
Brilliant, thanks for the Video Link and the tip re reset.
In the throws of things and swapping out components I think something has been missed and would like as much info to give to the installer tomorrow.
I think the issue came from the fact that the initial setup was an ex demo system with one amp and 4 speakers and then a brand new amp and 2 further speakers have been added but the system can't set itself properly. Maybe it wasn't fully reset.
I use my Beosound Shape in two use-cases (1) to listen to music via build-in Beosound Core and (2) as rear-speakers in my Dolby Surround setup. The amplifier is directly connected to the Beovision via Powerlink.
My Problem, since a few days the rear-speaker use-case does not work anymore properly. When I restart the Beosound Shape (switching on/off the main power-supply) and running Beovision the Beosound Shape / amplifier plays Dolby Surround sound for only a few minutes. Then the Beosound Shape speaker stops playing. Turning on/standby the Beosound Core via App does not help. Only switching on/off the main power-supply helps, but only for a view minutes, again.
Any ideas / help to get it working again? How can I reset the Beosound Shape amplifier?Has there been a software update of the Beosound Core lately?
Can you use the Shape as rear stereo-speakers?
Can you enter "stereo mode" within the app? Or is it just the remote?
