Hello, I have an Apple TV, LG B7 and a pair of Beolab 8000 speakers. What is the best way to connect the Speakers to the TV? I want to be able to change the volume with my iPhone using AirPlay 2.

Welcome to the forum!

Do you want to use the Beolabs only in conjunction with with Apple TV, or for all TV sound output?

Other than your headphone output, I think your TV only has digital sound output - Optical or HMDI.  Hence you are going to need a Digital to Analogue converter of some sort before sending the sound to the Beolabs.  Also I am not sure if this output is line output (i.e fixed volume) or variable (through the TV menus).

Hence you may be better off using the (variable volume) headphone output, as suggested in this thread by Steve of Sounds Heavenly: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/28454.aspx

Hopefully other forum members can suggest better solutions, if there are any for your specific TV.

Your LG set has only optical output fixed line level. I currently have an LG set, BL9 and S8 hub.

B&O solution would be a Beosound Core. App controls all and BS Core functions & does have (audio) AIrPlay as well. Alternatively a B&O S8 "connection hub" could be an even simpler solution though, you'd need some sort of IR remote to control volume. LG magic remote still outputs IR commands however only if the TV set is on.

Or third-party DAC/Preamp could work as well though more careful planning. I had such a set up with a LG oled, bl8000 and bl2.

I use an AppleTV and Beolab 8000s for all my viewing at home.  I use a Beosound Essence MK II but the Core is the current device. Just plug the speakers into the Core and use the AppleTV to send the audio to the Core using AirPlay.

i have an Essence Remote linked to the Essence and can’t recommend it enough.  Having a dedicated control rather than having to grab my phone all the time is really wonderful.

Sources: 2x Beosound Moment • 4x Beosound Essence Mk II
Speakers: 3x Beolab 8000 • 2x Beolab 6000 • 2x Beolab 3 • 3x Beolab 2
Integrated:  1x Beosound 2 • 1x Beosound Level • 4x BeoPlay M5 • 1x BeoPlay A6
Control:  16x* Essence Remote  • 1x Beoremote Halo

* Yes, really! 🤦‍♂️
