When will B&O come with something new?
koning: When will B&O come with something new?
Honestly I don't care any more (thanks Phil).
To me, B&O was a great company but no longer is. Only the speakers (horribly expensive) remain worthy of interest - and of course the vintage stuff!

Sadly, I agree with you.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
They will most probably not launch anything in the middle of European summer holidays when no one is .. in Europe , so the product launches usually happen after September but before Christmas, when people have money to spend.
What I don't understand is why they launch all products at the same time (in a 2-month window, usually), then have nothing to feed us during the remaining 10 months..not talking about BeoPlay products of course!
always ..............

My installer was at my place last week - while he professes to know little factual, he does speak to the guy in Denmark at times, and they assure him something amazing is in the pipeline.
Not that i have high expectations, but can't possibly think what that would be.
Sandyb: and they assure him something amazing is in the pipeline.

I am pretty sure that there is something interesting coming (some time after the summer vacations).
Even if it should be out of my price range or is something, that does not fit into my already relatively well equipped setup,
I’ll be looking forward to it!
Needless to say it - but I have high expectations ;-)

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Could it be timed for IFA in Berlin end-August?
Anything new will be released when it's almost ready.
Martin
The TV's with occasional sound (BV14, Android BV's) were quite innovative i thought.
Amazing no other brand had thought of that.
Dillen:Anything new will be released when it's almost ready.

Not that i have high expectations...
Clever strategy, that.
Lower our expectations to zero. Then, when they release an average product full of bugs and production issues, we'll actually be quite happy!
Genius.
perhaps we will see another sort of headphones.......
AdiS: perhaps we will see another sort of headphones.......
And new colors! Don't forget new colors!
koning:When will B&O come with something new?
That sort of headphonesThat sort of works
Let's all hope that, when they do release a new product, that it at least has gone through all the necessary testing phases, and that it works without flaws.
Not sure they know how to anymore...
Beolit 12 - Beolab 4 pc (dead now) - Beoplay H5 - Beolab 9 - BeoRemote One BT - Beoplay M3
Nice thought, but unlikely.
If anyone can name a product in the last few years that hasn't had either software issues or more simply missing functionality........then good luck!
andy_js:Nobody does software flaws quite like B&O. The Moment was definitely a leader in that regard.
If B&O sold pet rocks they'd probably need s/w updates.
Which is a huge shame as it was a wonderful design - I very nearly bought one because it was so B&O in design - and didn't because it was so modern B&O in execution.

While I didn't think it was anything special looks wise, they could have done better I believe, the "concept" of it was brilliant, the mood wheel, the idea of seamless integration of your music and streaming services. Unfortunately, what was delivered was a disaster, a product definitely not ready for prime time. I found that really disappointing, as I was excited when it was announced, it sounded innovative and original.

Let's not forget the disaster of the BV14/Horizon software the first year after release!
Karel.
Call it what it is, in the last 10 years B&O got more grace for producing non-performing sh** than any other global company in the A/V business. They forsook their loyal core of customers and dealers like children who take their trust fund to hang out with the Kardashians, run out of money, blame their parents for not treating them right, and end up working at Ikea. Royalty in the eyes of the blind.
@poodleboy
I am actually very pleased with my setup, which consists of both new and old product - nicely working together....and a couple of non-B&O products (ATV, OPPO-BRP)
In fact the essential parts are less than 10 years old.
Aren’t you happy with your BV11-55, then?

Exactly the same experience over here.
In my opinion: NL is the best multiroom system they ever produced. And I love the integration of all the NL stuff with the older ML- audio systems (BS9000, BS3000, BS7000, BS5e)
Core vs bluesound node
What a difference.
Better sound, better app, cheaper etc etc
I hope that the next audio streamer will be better , otherwise bye bye B&O
Wouldn't be quite so nice if you had to start from scratch with only newer products from the B&O range.
Which i think is the point and where the problem lies.

A normal person will not be able to work netlink and masterlink together anymore so new plus old is old news. 9000 is now wall art because too complex to keep going without parts and service. MX and 3000s will run til they die and we will have a nice ceremony at the bin. All reasonable.
My 11-55 is amazing and will be mine until it rots. If it breaks it will cost more to repair than it is worth, and then there will be no support. That is the bad news and that is B&O's fault. Now like Mercedes: Great old products to pass on to family (with a heritage center for old parts) replaced by incredibly expensive and complicated trash that is worth nothing after the luster is gone. Maybe not, Mercedes work during warranty still.
I am a dumb fish which always takes the bait, but if my wife cheats on me I won't say I am glad she is sharing her bountiful love with the world. That makes us different, maybe.
Anyone who buys current B&O is buying electronic Lego/Ikea at Bugatti price. For that blessed few that enjoy that, that's great.
A converter is nothing new, when it comes to B&O.
I am glad that B&O offers this possibility - which other company would do that......for you to keep your good old stuff.
As for my wife - she is very glad that she can handle all with one remote, using the same or similar commands for whatever must be operated.

I kindly disagree. At least in Switzerland there are capable specialists to help you keep an old system current. We happily have BS 9000, BS 3200, Beomaster 7700 (!), 7-55 and modern systems like BV11-55 working in "harmony" and connected with the exception of BM 7700. This one carries on as a standalone system. Yes, life with B&O has become more difficult, however, non B&O systems fare much worse in reparability.
those other systems come at a fraction of the price though.
And from what i understand, going forward ML products wont integrate (either at all?) or much less ease than previously, with something like the Eclipse (i.e. the hub).
B&O still do some things well, but let's not pretend that all the aspects that made the high prices justifiable (for some) are all present in their new / recent offerings.
If i had an Eclipse, for example, and discovered it's Bluetooth headphone connectivity had been disabled, i'd be absolutely furious.
Whatever BV they do next (if they do) needs to be less frankenstein, however good the paper specs looks.
Its one thing losing some heritage feel, its another losing basic functions present, and playing 3 times the price for the privilege.

Well said and quite fair. In my part of the world, the requirement for specialist requires the means and inclination to take on a more complex project to get that result. That used to come with the price tag, and the bolt-on converters and connectors provided minimal value for a lot of money. I have no problem saying the entertainment world passed me by, but I won't pretend that B&O represents the current or future reality of A/V. It just doesn't. I will fight to keep going what I have as long as I can, but Chinese programmed modules and "specially selected" panels will be too dear...for me.
Sandyb:And from what i understand, going forward ML products wont integrate (either at all?) or much less ease than previously, with something like the Eclipse (i.e. the hub).
I can play and do the necessary control to ALL my ML-audio in the NL-system and therefore on the Eclipse.

Pity the poor rubes and plebeians buying their little LG, Sony, or Samsungs. They just expect things to be affordable and actually work as advertised, the poor deluded saps.
We're all beta testers now! Sadly.

If not alpha testers.

The Eclipse never had ‘headphone connectivety’ - how can it be disabled then?
