Does anybody know if an original B&O Part 8420001 CD mechanisme would fit a Besound 9000 MK1. Apparently this part was used in the MK2 version. But I would like to use it in a MK1. Would that work?

It may - you need 8005294 (8420203 from s/n 12402833) for type 2521-2530.

8420001 will fit mk2, ie type no 2561-2567 if above s/n 15143261 and below s/n 15143261. The 8420001, aka Module 96, came with a new plug connection - so it may be possible to swap plugs and make mechanical alterations to make the drive fit, but will not fit out-of-the-box.

Hi Roger,

I’m still struggling with my Beosound 9000 MK1.
The previous owner seem to have mis-matched the laser mechanism and the control PCB…
The PCB (CD-servo & decoder) that is my unit is printed B&O C6143388 and 2 with 42 (in a circle) . See pictures attached.
The wires on the plug 45, pin 5 & 6 are not connected anywhere…
I can’t find this PCB 42 on any of the service manual for the BS9000, not the MK1 nor MK2 nor MK3.
I just bought a brand new CD mechanism VAM 1205 that does not want to focus. Everything else works fine.
So, my question: can this VAM1205 work with this board? Or what board do I actually need and is it available somewhere?
thanks in advance and kind regards
Alain
PS: can not add pictures; don't know  why

Hi Alain - I´m on vacation and away from my manuals until Mid August. Hopefully someone can help out before I return!

Anyone with manuals available to assist?

Thanks,

Roger

The servo/decoderboard next to the laserunit has to be marked with “VAM1205 only” at the connector where the wide flatcable is connected.

That’s in the original situation. A PCB board marked with 42 is a replacementboard which was used with a new mechanism years ago.
