Just had a demo - works as expected!
To be released in september.
It is a hardware revison - so kind of new product.
The ‘old’ version will be available too.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
Perfect timing. I had just been contemplating replacing my kitchen BeoSound 1 with a BeoSound 2 for sound from my kitchen TV/BeoSystem 3 -- since the BeoSound 1 has no line-in.

elephant:I wonder if the circle of dots is functional or just the google branding (same as the lights on their speakers ) ?
From B&O's press release : Both have five microphones to listen to your voice commands with a control panel on top to let you swipe for next or previous tracks, turn it to adjust the volume plus four buttons you can program to launch things like calendar, weather, radio, music playlists via Google Assistant compatible services.

‘I wonder if the circle of dots is functional’
The ‘dots’ wil be used for presets (like those on a BROne) later on.
@chucky: what’s better in Alexa concerning home automation? Only Crestron compatibility or more?
Biggest pro Google for me is that Google allows you to upload all you music to Google play music for free (320mbps) and then can be accessed by Google devices without charge.
Ban boring signatures!

Howzit: Puncher: Biggest pro Google for me is that Google allows you to upload all you music to Google play music for free (320mbps) and then can be accessed by Google devices without charge. Ban boring signatures! You can do this with Alexa too. I have both Amazon music unlimited (paid service, but you don’t have to have it if you don’t want it) and all my music is uploaded to Amazon music (free). Let’s not forget, Amazon used to be a bookstore, and used to sell a lot of music CDs and LP albums. Amazon is still a big music hub in this streaming era. Amazon admittedly doesn’t have the integration perhaps with players on phones... but then again, the Amazon music app works perfectly fine, on both android and iOS. Another reason why Alexa is also superior is that you can order groceries or other household items in your Amazon shopping cart through Alexa as well.

If this is true now, it certainly wasn't some time ago. I specifically didnt get an Alexa because you couldn't upload and have access to your own cds without a subscription and access via voice and cast to different devices.

So your dealer already has one? What is the difference in price for the two versions?
No, the dealers will get them in september sometime.
The demo was in Struer.
The new BS1 has a charging base.....by the way.
Very convenient for the small one.

Sounds nice really. I very much like both the idea of four favourite buttons on top and the charging dock. A proper v2 of both products with meaningful and practical enhancements. I can imagine these will be selling well.
A shame that the current Beosound 1 couldn't be software updated. Feel for the dealers with stock of colours they need to clear.

Not available for the scandinavian countries at launch, since Google Assistant for smart speakers is not launched here yet according to the press material.
A BS2 is now 2000 Eur.... quite steep.
And you need to pay extra for the charging base for BS1...

I was going to ask that question. Isn’t the BS2 £1495 right now, but the “next gen” now £1650 just with the addition of Google Voice?

Micheal, buy my sealed Beosound 1 so I don’t have to worry about old stock 😎
I guess they need both version, as google assistant is not launch in every country.

steve1977:Any insights on the price for the new BS1?
The price has gone up: €1,500/£1,250/$1,750
The existing BS1 is £1085. Funny, when I bought mine, I think I picked it up for £995 at launch.

It would require a lot more than just a software update? There is additional hardware in the new BS1/BS2 which recognises your voice and reacts accordingly - you can't do that via software! There's clearly some kind of microphone added and more.

If you like to Google Asissitant and own the old version of the Beosound 1/2 then a Google Home (mini) integrates perfectly. I have a speaker group set up between a GHM and the Beosound.
I prefer the older Beosound 1 without the voice functionality. But the charging station is a very nice plus. I know it's been asked but there's no answer yet: Will the charging station be compatible with the older Beosound 1?The Beosound 1 is simply the most beautiful thing of all their wireless speakers (for me).

It looks like that will work fine with the MK I Modell
