Hi

I’ve noticed that all of my devices when I turn them off in standby are still connected to the network which is good so I can easily wake them etc.

However with the BV14 as soon as I turn it off it goes offline and no details are visible and I can’t see it on my network or say add it to my google home app etc.

Any reasons why ?

It’s connected via LAN and it has wireless radio on ( I have tried off too).

The beotool says that it’s not checking for the software update obviously because it’s offline lol.

Is there another setting I’m missing ?

My tv’s (V1 and Avant/2014) behaves similar, when there is no quick timer at that moment.

I can wake them up by tapping the product in the product view of the app.

After that they appear online in BeoTool.

How do quick timers work on a BV14?

I could not find anything in the user guide.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Don't think it's a quick timers thing because the Avant is always available on the tool.  Gen 1 Avant like yours... or your V1.

Naturally if i wake it , it will appear

But it's affecting the behaviour of waking up from the BeoApp.  It says waking up, but then is blank.

Hmmmm :-)

There is a tv - and there is a BV.

Interestingly the Avant has a wake on lan setting and a wake on wlan.

The 14 has a wake on wlan only.

I’ll do some further investigation

Did you solve this issue? I’ve got the same issue with my BeoPlay V1 - can’t find what’s causing it!

I turned on the wifi antenna as well as the LAN. My thinking was that the wifi will keep it alive as well.

It is a bit better but not the same

The tool shows it online now though however red for software update check even though on the TV it shows it checks for software update each day. So I don’t think that’s a biggie.

Did the recent BV14 software update make any improvements?

On Thursday 6 Dec my BV14 went from 7.0.209 to 8.1.013. It was our first upgrade since installing it 3 months ago, and while exciting to watch the upgrade, I cant tell any differences other than volume control is more laggy on the Beoremote Ones. Curious the release date was: 2018-11-02 and I very regularly check for updates.

I was hoping for an Android update, but as far as I can tell I am still on Nougat.

I still have always had red on software update on the BeoTool app; and it is still red after the update. I have assumed that function on BeoTool cant work with Android; but that is just a guess.

I am hoping that the BV14 can ride the Horizon's coat tails for future upgrades? I assume there are not that many differences between the two/

My BV14 also went to 8.1.013 last night after watching it.  I shut the TV down at 10 and it started the update and then the android update.  And that was the first update apart from the one that I did when i purchased the TV and it was set up (by me).

It has no release notes, which is annoying.

The android version is 5.1.1 according to the TV.

I get a green now on all services on the BeoTool, so hopefully it would be fixed.  But prior to this i woke the 14 up via the BeoApp, so maybe that helped make all services green.  Even though it says all services are green ist says that the BeoVision 14 is offline.

So now when i look in the BeoApp and click on the BV14 and under where it says Name, Software and About, I click on the name and there is a pop up that says "You need to use Apple Home app to change the product name" - why?  That's odd.

I did change the name of the TV when i set it up so that it is easier to see on the network.

My BV14 was also updated... but haven't seen anything new/changes. Ok.. I have to admit... I looked for 30sec in de settings.

Anyone have access to a changelog?

Karel.

Don't count in it... I have a feeling that the hardware in the BV14/Avant doesn't support the newer Android versions.

And if the hardware would support such an update I doubt if B&O would dare to make an update to a newer Android version given the various software issues it had (or still has...).

I think what we have got is what we have got.

I was interested to see that there was a software update during the week. But I’d love to know what it was ? Maybe it was just things like apps.

Since latest update I experience problems with the BT Beo one remote losing connection. Reboot both remote and TV fixes it. After a day or so the problem reoccur.Anyone else experiences this?

From the software update, no real improvements noticeable, picture seems somewhat sharper and menu reaction little better. Main issue still is the random slowness of the system OS, the Android platform is just rubbish from performance side, the UI itself is something I started to like and the old OS feels outdated at this time. Maybe in the end the Eclipse will be the best way forward.

For now, I do not understand that B&O is still selling the Horizon with the software issues still not completely solved and with so much time between the needed updates and improvements. There was a lot of progress last year with the updates, but now they just looking away.

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

The only issue I have is when I turn on the TV (should also start the Apple TV) half of the TV is green since the update.

If I press TV Apple TV then that fixes it.

I might have to reset the whole TV which is very odd to me.

I wonder if the software update was pushed out by b and o or android.

I have my TV button set to turn on the Apple TV and most times it signs out of Netflix. My Sony tv keeps all of this. When I start then Netflix it makes a noise like it’s starting house of cards and I’m not even playing that.

I wonder if it has something to do with the puc control maybe not turning the Apple TV off at TV standby which it should do.

I like the android interface. I would prefer it if you could move the “shelves”

I don’t think mine is that sluggish but I mainly use Apple TV interface solely because of Netflix.

The Netflix app does not work on the BV14 - well mine anyway
