Bought a 4002 that the seller modded with RCA jacks to accept choice of cables. Done as per the Belover site. Would like to know if anyone has a preferred or recommended brand of cables to use or just get a decent set of any brand...
thanks!
Jacques
chartz:A can of worms this. All the world’s crooks in there.
Hi chartz,
I agree, cable capacitance isn't an issue here. However, due to the low output voltage from the MMC cartridge, loop resistance of the cable and connectors can make a difference to the output level, also poorly shielded cables can be very susceptible to induced electrical noise.
Hence, no "snake oil" super cables are needed, just common-sense, good quality cable with decent shielding of the signal conductors and low resistance to minimise signal loss. As always, please keep the cable length as short as reasonably possible (ideally a metre maximum) when connecting an early Beogram to a pre-amp or main system.
Kind regards, Steve.
Steve.
