@ BEOVOX141

Your access to B&O is back to BeoSystem 3 and before. Only with Beosystem 4, B&O started building
of their ecosystem. This B & O ecosystem, many have spent a lot of money on this. Therefore, we cannot
count With there is the great interest in getting acquainted with what new systems have to offer.

No one disagrees with your point, but it was well made within the first couple of pages of this thread!!

38 pages later the same cyclic argument is rolling along, mostly between the same two protagonists, without any progress or new information - this is what people are complaining about!

This also provides information to any purchaser of Beovision Harmony
as HDMI 2.1 - eARC is part of LG TV OLED C9 77".

eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel). and it is a big step forward for TV audio. eARC was introduced as part
of the HDMI 2.1 standard.  What is required on the hardware side. Bandwidth will be increased from approx.
1-3 Mb/s in standard ARC to 37 Mb/s in eARC. It is enough to push through 7.1 surround as well as lossless HD
audio. It also offers other advantages. With eARC, the HDMI Forum has also made ‘Lip Sync Correction’
mandatory, which means that picture and audio should remain in perfect sync throughout the video/audio chain.

Another change is that eARC no longer relies on HDMI CEC (control protocol) for discovery and pairing. eARC
has its own dedicated data channel, which allows connected devices to exchange information about which audio
formats are supported – and not supported – at each end. The system will automatically select and use the
optimal format. eARC is a big step forward in technological terms but it may also solve the dilemma that we
touched on in the previous section. A receivers or soundbar will no longer have to be the control center and will no
longer have to handle video signals. Of course, it still can if you want it to but eARC changes the dynamics and
offers an alternative. In the near future, the same audio quality and formats that can be sent downstream via HDMI,
can be sent upstream via HDMI eARC.

It seems that it is possible to switch LG screen in the future.

Fits very well with my dealer said they will get LG TV in the Beo store.

Retailing from 18,500 EUR, and available in Bang & Olufsen stores from October, Beovision Harmony is certainly not something you’ll want to be replacing after only a few years. But, while it isn’t yet part of the company’s marketing of the product, when we spoke to Vice President of Product Management Christoffer Poulsen, he told us the ability to upgrade the screen in the future is something for which B&O has planned. - Click here.

So, instead of a Beosystem 5 we are being pushed a center channel with audio processing? Does it decode Atmos?

Can I get one without the TV?

Hallo Dante

Beosystem 5 ? ? ?
Atmos decoders are built into LG 2019 TV, so if an Atmos signal is recognized, it must be decoded.

Amazingly, annoyance may occur after watching the video that LG OLED 77" C9 PLA TV does not have B&O's
logo on the cardboard box. How long do you think people think an LG produced TV is a B&O TV by baptizing it
Beovision Harmony. However, please be happy that B&O has developed Sound Center Harmony, which is likely to
provide you B&O's ecosystem allows you to use your investment in this system. An expensive hobby. . . Yes.

A cheaper solution.

Here are the processes that are needed to implement, for the eARC system not to go into the current ARC mode.

You missed the point of making a possible B&O A/V solution of today.

If you want something cheaper, then go for it.

It has always been possible to find cheaper solutions, than buying, what B&O offers.

Maybe an option.

LG C9 OLED 4K TV versions have HDMI 2.1. eARC integrated. So missing SoundCenter Harmony and eARC
software update. Then only an 1 HDMI cable necessary. But it will be enough. C9 also handle AirPlay 2.

HDMI 2.1.- eARC. On this link you get a good explanation. -

In addition, Yamaha is bringing HDMI eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel) support to a total of 23 AV receivers.

HDMI Enhanced Audio Return channel (also known as HDMI eARC) is built upon the
existing HDMI ARC technology to simplify connectivity issues. It can be of immense
help to you in simplifying you Home Theater setup and connectivity issues.

For those who don’t know, HDMI simplifies your connectivity issues when you need
to route your source audio from TV/Smart TV to your Home Theater Speakers. So
you can enjoy high quality audio in your favorite On Demand movie, shows and
music from your Smart TV’s to your Home Theater speakers with just one cable.
It saves your the hassle of connecting multiple cables.

Though still, trying to keeping pace with the growth of home theater installations with
Dolby Atmos and similar technologies which allow us to have a immersive surround
sound experience, we now have a improved version of HDMI ARC which is eARC.

As of now it is not possible to output 7.1 surround or lossless audio from the TV via
ARC (upstream). However, it is possible to carry 7.1 surround and lossless audio the
other way (downstream) via HDMI, meaning from a Blu-ray player to a receiver.

The limited bandwidth allows HDMI ARC to only deliver stereo audio and compressed
5.1 surround and supports every audio format that would normally pass through S/PDIF:
i,e Dolby Digital, DTS and PCM audio. It can handle both the TV's regular two-channel
audio and 5.1 surround sound without any trouble.

Namely, it can't send HD or high-bit-rate audio used by standards like Dolby Atmos
and DTS:X. This is where eARC steps in. Watch this video to learn more about eARC

No. But now that I have started, I also show this opportunity, which I probably choose when BV7 cannot do more.  Beer

I've got a good idea.
We have agreed that B&O has adopted LG TV as BeoVision. Then a Yamaha AVR
with HDMI / eARC can also be adopted by B&O as the brand new BeoMaster. Yes - thumbs up

Be careful before you purchasing HDMI 2.1 cables.
Looking you for Ultra High Speed HDMI cables, you can already find some of these cables for sale online.
HDMI releases version 2.1 is available, (updated 2019). But there is no standard test yet. That is, HDMI
Licensing cannot say Whether any of these cables are actually Ultra High Speed. It's possible they are, but. ?

(Test) of sound from built-in LG C9 TV speaker.

The LG C9 sounds remarkably good, especially when you consider it measures mere millimetres
at the top and only reaches 46.9mm at the bottom. That doesn’t leave a lot of room for speakers,
but LG has applied some clever AI processing to provide acoustical assistance.

To start with, you can actually optimise your new C9 for the specific room you’re using it in.
There’s a new One Touch Sound Tuning feature that uses the mic in the remote to analyse the
room from your main listening position and set-up the TV accordingly.

Once the AI acoustic tuning has finished, you can compare before after prior to saving the settings.
This feature really works, and the sound retains excellent detail and crisp clarity. There are three
modes as well, with the Standard option providing the most balanced results. However, if you feel
like boosting the treble or bass you can, and the results are impressive.

There’s also an AI Sound mode that up-mixes 2.1-channel audio to virtual 5.1 surround sound.
Thanks to the clever application of psychoacoustic trickery the sound benefits from staging that
seems bigger and more open. The dialogue remains clear but music and effects are more enveloping,
while the bass is surprisingly deep.

As with previous years, the C9 supports Dolby Atmos. You can't apply AI processing in this mode,
but then why would you? Dolby Atmos is natively encoded with discrete surround channels, and
although the TV is creating its sound field with only a pair of speakers, the results are often highly
immersive. The audio capability of these modern TVs is nothing short of amazing.

Sound TL;DR: The sound quality is remarkable considering how ultra-slim this TV is.
The AI-enhanced processing really works, as does the acoustic tuning.  Of Techradar - Best in class.
