No, they ‘took away the ability’ to ir remote control/Beo4 it.
The MK2 works with bluetooth via Essence Remote and lately with the BeoRemote One/BT - and the app.
With the MK3 it will be the same.
I’d say controlling with a BROne/BT is superiour to controlling with the Beo4.
