Question.

I am fed up with my ML NL converter. I want to use my ML system for TV and for audio I have an NL system separate.

Do I need a ML NL converter to switch of the Beovision or send light commands to the Beolink gateway?

Thanks Chucky

So you want to bridge your legacy ML over to your BV, right? So which BV is it and what are the other audio sources? Just need to understand what your scenario is and what we got to play within terms of devices.

Just to compare I got my own house wired up with ML-network and I have one BeoLink Converter NL/ML which bridges my BeoSound Moment over to the ML-network as it's a NL-unit. So in my case I only have one NL-device and the rest are based on ML-network.

For the light command handling I'm using the first version of the MasterLink Gateway which is ML-device and hocks in to the ML-network and handles light commands picked up by any device.

So, based on the above, a bit more information on what you have and whether it's ML or NL devices. As you have a NL/ML-converter you're your limited to what this can do and if you need a gateway to other system or control other devices, then yes you need the BeoLink Gateway unit to interact with. How are you today controlling your lights and what else is you want to handle?

Setup

Living

BV7

NL ML Converter

bedrooms

BV 6

Core with powerlink switches from oneremote

And other stuff with a beolink Gateway. I want to use a powerlink switch in the livingroom and cut out the NL/ML converter. I hate it so much that I am willing to ditch my complete ML setup including converters etc.

So in the current setup I would like to do the same as in the bedrooms

BV 7 with powerlink switch from 1 remote to BL9, will I have a delay on other speakers in this setup using my TV?

This works pretty amazing, I use TV on ML and when I send TuneIn command it picks up the core from the NL network. So I do not even care to have 2 systems in the same room.

What else will I miss when I take out the MLNL converter. I presume I can still send light commands? So basicly what does the NL/ML converter do in my current setup except sending a command to my BV 7 from the core? Does the Beolink gateway need a NL ML Converter for light signals?

Thanks!
