Hi guys,
just upgraded to a BV10-46 and have some problems with the sound of it. I`m using the BV10 with BL9 front and BL4000 rear speaker and a TechniSat cable receiver. However the sound from the surround module of the BV10 is very bad if I´m using the bitstream format from the receiver (Bitstream = surround module of the Beovision has to do the job). If I switch to PCM format the sound improves dramatically in all speaker modi (speaker 1, 2, 3, 5). If I switch the cable straight into the BV10 (not using the TechniSat) I receive the same bad sound. The sound of each speaker incl. the intern center is very low, little bass. With my last BV8-40 I used the bitstream format and everything was fine. I tried several hours to solve the problem - without any success.Thank you very much for your help in advance.

MartinW,
do you also use a separate tuner or do you use the inbuilt DVB-Tuner? If you use a separate one, do you have bitstream or PCM mode selected?
Thank you
The BV10 cannot decode advanced sound formats when you input in bitstream.
Just input in PCM : the result will be ABSOLUTELY EQUAL as if you had your BV10 doing the bitstream>PCM decoding. This is just mathematical (exact) conversion, it has nothing to do with high quality sound processing.
Think of the Bitstream>PCM decoding as if you where unzipping a file on a PC : the result is the same, bit for bit, with any old crappy PC or brand new shiny Mac.

mbee,
just found an interesting input in the archive forum

But mbee,
if someone does not have additional receiver, the sound from the internal surround modul is in my opinion much worser than using the PCM signal from a external receiver. Very bad solution.
