Good Afternoon,
I am a long-time B&O enthusiast looking to expand the sound on my existing Projector setup.
My Optoma projector is connected to a PS3 via an HDMI cable.
For the audio the PS3 is connected via component cables to a B&O Overture driving a pair of Beolab 1 speakers, giving a very impressive stereo soundtrack.
I would like to upgrade the 'stereo' to Dolby 5.1 by adding three more B&O speakers & a suitable 5.1 'driver'. My two favourite options are;
1. Purchase a used Beosystem 2 to drive the speakers - but I understand from elsewhere on this forum it my require some modification to enable it to work independently ie without a screen?
2. Purchase an early Beovision 7-32 & mount it behind the projector screen - I understand these sets have a 'projector' socket especially for this purpose?
Looking at used prices, both options would cost around £400, plus of course the cost of the extra speakers & cabling etc.
I would be grateful for any advice or opinions!
Kind Regards
Julian
One good solution could be this:

if you decide that you only go for bang&olufsen speakers in your new setup I can sell you (for £200 plus packaging) a rarely used detoma X501 dolby surround decoder especialy made for B&O speakers and for the Ouverture, as it has the same size and looks perfect situated under the Ouverture.
kind regards
Flo
Thank you all for your suggestions,
Am I correct in thinking that by using a non-B&O AVR the B&O speakers will automatically switch off during long silent periods during movies?
Also, which outputs from the Overture would feed the AVR? The Overture only has two active 'Speaker out' sockets. Can these be used to feed the AVR?
Take a look at this thread
Best regardsRalf
Thank you all again for your input.
if I decide to opt for a non-B&O amp, presumably I will have to have a separate control for the volume?
What would be the best solution if I were to insist on using only Bang & Olufsen products?
Kind regards
