Beolab Penta woofer buzzing

I have one woofer in one of my MkII Pentas that has an occasional buzz. Only one woofer does this, but if I push very lightly on the cone I can make it subside for some time. It will come back after some low bass notes. I’m assuming the voice coil is coming off the former and the woofer is in need of replacement. The buzz is in line with the music and follows deep tones. Am I right, or are there other options?

You can try as follows: unscrew the bass unit, turn 180 degree around (from 6 to 12 o’clock) and screw it back it’s place. I’ve experienced that the cones are hanging somehow over the years. So I suggest to do this with al bass drivers.

I just tried that and I'm not sure it's going to work for me. There seems to be a good amount of resistance to cone movement. If I press on just one side of the dust cap at a time, I can just find a pressure point that makes less of a scraping sound. I think replacement is the only choice now, unless someone can suggest an outfit that can repair it, or can provide me with some DIY instructions. Since I'm counting on replacement, I guess there is no harm in trying a repair, but I don't want to go into it blind.

I plan to buy one from the repair center this week. The voice coil is shot.

My wife was nice enough to pick up a new woofer for me yesterday and I installed it this morning. All good.
