I am going to see the television the 20th of June,

Do people have any question, because then I can ask them.

I for one would like to know if the HDMI in the B&O section is 2.1 (I hope that is why it is first coming in Oktober)

Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence

Wow, lucky you. Wink My only question would be will we ever see 55" version. Everything else is simply too big for my apartment...

Enjoy the demo!

Not officially no. You could technically do it but the bottom wings/panels will stick out at the width of a 65'' display.

Hi Emil

These are the detailed specifications for the HDMI inputs within the ‘B&O Harmony’.

4 x HDMI on the Beovision Harmony with PUC and CEC. All HDMI connections support HDMI 2.0 with EARC and HDCP 2.3

Should be sufficient, I guess.

But do they support hdmi 2.1? or just 2.0?

We'll have John on again on the podcast this Friday and he has the Harmony over the weekend in his shop for invited guests and a video Big Smile So we can ask all these things in detail and get some more info too!

I can confirm that the LG screen supports HDMI 2.1 and the B&O soundcenter supports HDMI 2.0.

Dolby Atmos suffers over arc on hdmi 2.0, hdmi 2.1 is necessary for full bandwith atmos with arc. So that is a key factor for considering a soundcenter that pulls sound from the TVs 2.1 sources if added that way.

Also for 4K 100Hz or 120HZ hdmi 2.1 is necessary, but most material is still not above 60. But might change.

I would say hdmi 2.1 should be the correct implementation as this is what is being pushed 2019. A soundcenter for a high cost with an already older port that can not support high resolution sound? MMm neh..

Beolab 50, Beolab 8000 x 2, Beolab 4000 x 2,
BeoSound Core, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound Century,
BeoLit 15, BeoPlay A1, BeoPlay P2, BeoPlay H9 3rd Gen, BeoPlay H6, EarSet 3i,
BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,
BeoCom 6000 and so much else :)

These are the supported sound formats for

HDMI A-D in the soundcenter.

Dolby Digital 5.1

Dolby Digital plus 7.1

DTS HD-Master Audio 7.1 and the underlying DTS formats

PCM 7.1

The HDMI output from screen to soundcenter supports eARC. These are the sound formats that can be transported via eARC but not all have to be supported:

Dolby Digital Plus (up to 7.1 channel)

Dolby TrueHD (up to 7.1 channel)

Dolby Atmos

DTS-HD High Resolution Audio (up to 7.1 channel)

DTS-HD Master Audio (up to 7.1 channel)

DTS:X

I suppose B&O’s answer to Dolby Atmos is True Image which works really well with ceiling height installed loudspeakers. We have installed with an Eclipse 55 centre, BL18 front, Celestial Ceiling Height Rear, BL17 Surrounds and BL19 sub and play DD 5.1 content through it and the upscale of audio to fill in sounds is amazing. Just a thought and suggestion.

Hi Beoworlders,

As Beovision Harmony is now available to view at B&O Harrods in London until 11th August, I thought you may be interested to see this short video review that I filmed yesterday in store:-

The audio comment between 0:30 and 0:50 sounds like Jonathan Ive's videos for Apple!

I didn't set out to promote the Harmony, but I was quite stunned by it in the flesh.  Well worth seeing it in person if you can.

My first reaction on the suit was 'Sharp dressed man' which made me think of the ZZ Top album 'Eliminator' which was the first B&O product if my memory serves right. Anyhow, good job on the video and looking forward the product launch Smile

Curious to know what height the bottom of the screen sits at on the 65 inch version with the speakers unfurled.

It doesn’t appear so yet, it’ll tell you what source is playing when I switch from deezer to tune in etc but other than that it’s ‘’blank’’. I don’t mind personally.

Just bought an apple tv 4k and it passes through dolby atmos and that has made everything come alive like never before. There is a huge difference between the native app in 5.1 versus dolby atmos pass through on an apple tv especially in my case when i have 7.x and 2 are sort of semi height speakers. Just wow!

He's still dreaming of rollable TVs obviously.

The wait must be driving him mad?!?....especially for the rollable 55 inch, which (as explained 1 year ago), will likely never happen.

True, but what would make such a "dream" so impossible? Adding LG C9 to something else - base of the rollable LG TV equipped with B@O Stage loudspeakers, for example, or the Harmony (sound) base?

What in your view, makes it so completely impossible that you dismiss the idea as nonsense? Not discussing B&O strategy here, but rather is it possible to execute it.

So you're suggesting the base / stand / speaker housing of the Rollable LG OLED, a rollable LG OLED screen, but with the Harmony speakers?

The Harmony has moving speakers, those wont work with the static housing of the Rollable base.

Or you're just asking for LG to allow B&O to insert a speaker system into the Rollable base, and remove the LG speaker set i.e. in a static, not Harmony moving set up.

Yeah, neither of these things are ever going to happen.

Much more sensible to focus on most likely outcomes, not 1% likely outcomes.

@ Sandyb. It's not about rolling TV, just a new motor lift, and metadata in audio mode.

It is a feature, that was announced, but not yet released.
How it will be implemented.......and when - and if at all - it will be released, is not known.

Why not in Beovision Harmony version 1. ? ? ?
