As you may be aware, Im running an Eclipse 65 with the BL90s either side.
As with the Avant 55, the Eclipse has excellent sound processing for a Beovision. Far better than the BV7-55 (which I also had and thought it was good but also a large lump of a TV).
Cant dispute the Eclipse as an excellent TV, though the OS control system leaves me wanting. I preferred the form-factor of the Avant 55 (especially hanging on the wall, and the original B&O OS)
I would personally only look to upgrade the Beolabs if to improve my music listening pleasure. Yes, the BL50's will thrash the BL9s and BL7-4s all over town but the existing setup will work well in Video. Certainly big coin for an improved video experience.
For me, I prefer to kill all sound from the Eclipse soundbar in all modes as it definately distracts from the sound of the BL90 phantom image and dont see the BL50s being any different in that sense....so I guess it is what cash you are willing to throw at it, what you really want to improve (music, video or latest tech?)
