I have a Beocenter 7000 - I presume it is a type 1803 since I'm in the U.S. (There is no type label apparent either in or outside; radio is FM only so I assume it's not a type 1801.)
The question: where can I locate a replacement cassette belt? I can find belts for type 1801, 2 and 4, but no 1803. I'll guess they're all the same, but I want to be sure.
The amusing effect of heat within the BC7000: the old belt has deteriorated to the point that it melts when touched. Quite a mess trying to clean out the old belt. Wait a minute.....does the Beocenter 7000 have TWO BELTS inside it? There are pieces of a FLAT belt nearby. I don't see where a flat belt would be used. What are these pieces of a flat belt?
Thanks for your help.

I can supply correct belts, both for the tapedeck section and for the turntable.New idler wheel rubber parts for the tapedeck too.
PM or email me.

After posting the previous, I began to feel that it might sound pretty dumb to have access to a belt for types 1801, 1802 and 1804 and not catch on that they'd fit my type 1803. On the other hand, I don't want to spend fifteen bucks, wait eight or ten days with the unit opened up on my workbench, only to find out that B&O put a different cassette player in the US version for the same reason they didn't give us an AM/FM radio.
Another note - I cleaned up the smeared deteriorated belt with plain ol' alcohol and found an area of black paint removed! The bottom of the 7000's box now has a white stripe across the inside!. Nothing that'll show from the outside of the underside, but just plain alcohol did that?

I just had a similar experience with a set of Penta pedestals, alcohol stripped the black paint clean off right down to steel!
