I am sorry to say, I've spent much more time in management than I ever did in electronic design, the degree I earned at my university. So, I'm looking for a very simple circuit I can use to turn on the tube amplifier I designed using a powerlink signal. I am doing this to help tie my two loves - tubes and B&O together. This way I can use a Beomaster to drive a nice pair of passive speakers using my tube amp. Anyone have a simple circuit I can use to turn on a relay? Otherwise, I'll break out my design manuals and have a go.

In my files area are pics of what I built.  It's unsafe junk, but drove a Carver M400 cube from a BeoCenter 2500 for years.  [Edit: deleted]

B&O used to make an auxillary box to do this, although it wasn't designed for Powerlink, and needed 12v to trigger it,whereas the Powerlink trigger is 5v.

I think Steve at Sound's Heavenly does something for this purpose though,as often Beoworlder's want to drive an auxillary power amp.

Send him a message explaining what you  need?

This was the box - they still come up on eBay occasionally: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=1246

.. and mine worked fine with a Powerlink 5v trigger, supplied by the RJ45 socket of a Playmaker to turn on a BM900 as its amp!

A couple of alternatives:

- This trigger circuit design is posted in the Beotech section of this site: https://www.beoworld.org/beotech/circuit.htm

- You could possibly use one of these with the Beomaster in the 'master' socket and the valve amp connected to one of the 'slaves': https://www.amazon.co.uk/CrazyGadget%C3%82-Automatic-Energy-Protected-Extension/dp/B00YZ50CE0/ref=pd_sbs_23_1/261-0402616-5327328?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00YZ50CE0&pd_rd_r=22113fae-cd85-49a0-94e7-01dba465ff54&pd_rd_w=7QfOB&pd_rd_wg=VZ1go&pf_rd_p=18edf98b-139a-41ee-bb40-d725dd59d1d3&pf_rd_r=388RY3ZS5GQ2B7Q8T3GS&psc=1&refRID=388RY3ZS5GQ2B7Q8T3GS

This is exactly what I needed. I can use the tube heater circuit for the power source. Thanks.

Hi DMacri,

It sounds like you have a few options there.  Please let me know if you need something to be built and I can sort this out for you.

Kind regards, Steve.
