Which one are you looking for? There are plenty of different types. What is the intended use?

Right!

It is to be attached to an Arduino board for home control/automation. It should be able to receive IR commands from a BeoRemote One.

Don't know what type that should be, but I guess one of the later models?

I came across an BeoLink PC2 with an eye on ebay, but don't know if that would suit me...

Hi there,

If it's just for IR, basically any IR-eye will work. Use 5v as supply with a 10K pull-up resister to data, and then of course ground.

If you intend to use the buttons on the IR-eye, my own experiences is that it is by far easiest to work with the latest model (the one with JOIN on top), since it uses regular TTL commands, whereas all the others use i2c.

Didn't know the ones with JOIN were actually different from the ones with TIMER on top, thought they were pretty much the same.

I do :-)

But since the buttons are none of my concern, I guess any eye will do.

The BeoLink PC2 kit seems to have an eye without buttons, is that correct?

The eye used for PC2 is AFAIK the same as for BeoSystem3 (without auto-contrast). You can use that. Here's an overview of the different eyes:

I have a few of the ones without the writing on if you need one. These were for the old Plasma TV's from memory.

Happy to give you it for the cost of shipping and a very small donation to BeoWorld Smile  (every little helps!)

That is a generous offer which I'll gladly accept!

Should we exchange information through pm?
