Hello, what's the best way to connect a pair of beovox speakers RL60.2 to a Beovision 6 26 TV? Will you need a separate amplifier for it? Not having hdmi at the back I've read that if you use a normal dvi to hdmi converter, you won't get any sound so I was thinking to use external speakers but not sure this is the best idea.
I've searched but couldn't find anything much helpful.
Many thanks
Bruno
Firstly you are right in that the DVI input does not accept audio.
If you want to feed hdmi to the TV, then you could use an hdmi audio extractor such as this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/aoeyoo%C2%AE-Analog-Converter-Digital-Extractor-White/dp/B00NAJ4UM2/ref=sr_1_37?keywords=hdmi+audio+extractor&qid=1565536235&s=gateway&sr=8-37
And then feed the sound to the two (L&R) phono sockets in the rear panel, and use a 'hdmi to DVI' cable for the picture into the TV. You will then be able to get sound and picture by selecting 'PC' on your remote.
The audio extractor in the link has the added advantage of removing 'hdcp' - which is a great help when trying to watch protected hd content on a TV that is not HD ready.
With this setup (which is what I use) you will not need external speakers.
If you wish to add you RL60s as external speakers anyway, then a good solution would be to add a Beolink Passive to act as an amplifier. You would connect the passive to the TV by Powerlink, and then connect your speakers also. Switching on the TV would also then trigger the amplifier to turn on.
That's great Guy, thanks so much for the very informative response. One other question please is how to set up PC from the remote control. I'll use a beolink 1000. What's a beolink passive then, not a big expert on this as you can see.
Thanks again.
You can select PC on your BL1000 by pressing SHIFT then STORE.
And a Beolink Passive is one of these: https://www.beoworld.org/prod_details.asp?pid=981
You can pick then up quite cheaply on eBay. (And you just need the main unit - not the IR sensor!)
For Powerlink cables, I suggest speaking to Steve at Sounds Heavenly, our site sponsor below.
Got to nip out now, but happy to answer further questions later.
Perfect! Thanks again!
I'm actually trying to get a second hand beovision 6 26 but it doesn't come with any stand. Will I be able to use it on top of a small table or will it fall? It may seem a silly question butI haven't got a clue π
Thanks Lawrence, the problem is that I live in Scotland and I can't never find anything here. Everything is in England and most is for collection only. I once drove to collect an MX7000 and it was quite a challenge. Even if it was delivered then, there's a possibility of damage in transit. I guess I'll have to wait and hope for something turning up locally. βΊοΈ
Hi Brunetto,
I have a spare motorised floor stand for a beovision 6-26 that I would happily sell you...I’m based in Stirling if that works for you..send me a message if this is of interest. Best wishes.
