While began my journey to NL quite some years ago, I nevertheless recently encountered an issue with my remaining ML installation and I would appreciate any tips to narrow down the source of the failure.

I have a BS3000 (A.Opt 0) in my living room connected to my ML backbone. A ML/NL Converter in A.Slave mode mirrors basically the CD source to the NL world. These days I do not use the CD source as frequently as I used to do, but recently I discovered that my BV11 was not able to play the CD (nor radio) source any more (shows „Connecting...“ to the ML/NL Converter for quite some time before giving up and turning off). The BS3000 always acts indifferent without turning on at all.

The logs on the Converter hint in the direction that so audio master source can be found. I also tested to connect via my BV10 by pressing „CD“, which also does not start any activity from the BS. While I did not change any thing with the ML cabling for quite some years, I nevertheless wanted to exclude any wiring issues and I basically connected the BS3000 directly via a very short ML cabling (just with a junction box inbetween) to the converter. Also with this simplified ML setup, the converter logs still tell that no Audio Master can be found when requesting the CD source via B&O app. The BS3000 does not turn on, still.

The BS3000 still works in general, e.g. spins up the CD player when put in A.Opt 2 mode and responds to the Beo4. This now leads me to believe that the BS3000‘s ML logic became defective. Before now handing the BS3000 over to the dealer for repair I would like to seek advice if you guys have further hints on how to narrow down the issue even further.

Hard to say much from afar.

Did you try to connect the BS3000 and the BV10 directly without having the converter in the mix....just as a test?

This could show if there is a fault in the 3000.

If possible use a ML cable in one piece.

Remember to make the right options for that setup....and don’t forget to reset, when the test is made.

Mostly ML issues are related to faulty cables/cable connections, that suddently appear...without any forewarnings.

Maybe you should check that junction box first!

Thanks, MM! I followed your advice and connected the BV10 and BS3000 without the converter present. It worked immediately!

So, next step will be to find out why the converter and/or the cabling near to the converter produced this issue.

Just to close this thread - I installed a new junction box with new ML cabling to the the ML/NL Converter. After resetting the other ML hardware, the BS3000‘s sources became accessible again. So far, so good.

On another note, after the converter became accessible again my new Core (which I traded in for the ever-faulty Moment) became unreliable. The Core is running in an integrated setup with my BV11. Now, with the converter active and when selecting the core‘s sources like TuneIn and Deezer via the B&O app, the TV is switched on correctly but then unsuccessfully tries to connect to the Core (TV displays „connecting...“) before eventually giving up. I repeatedly removed the Core from the integrated setup and re-integrated it again which brings back functionality. However, this only lasts until the TV is switched off. When requesting Deezer tunes via app, the same scenario re-appears.

Did you restart the converter after handling with the ML?

Did you disconnect the ML plug from the converter while working on the ML?

Anyway....nice that it helped to reinstall the junction box.

Thanks again, MM! Yes to both question. However, I would suspect the new issue with the Core in the networking/IP area, not ML?
