Hello everyone
Desperately help needed please . I have a pair of Beolab 5 connected to core
via rj45/power link and the second speaker connection is power link to the first.
every time I play music only one speaker works (the first connected via rj45)
however both turn green when I play music
I had tried switching the side and the problem switch side as well
I spent few hr with B&o tech support and they couldn’t help me
if I have the speakers connected to essance I have the same experience
please help any anyone and thank you in advance
Sounds like your RJ/PL adapter cable is wired with only one audio channel -
I'd measure the pins or test another cable.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like a cable problem to me. I would change both cables just to rule out any cable issues.

thank you for the worm Wellcome and for respond , I am going to buy new wires for core and Beolab and will take it from there ,sometime it work with both speakers and it is very confusing however I should start from the easy to the hard one
in case it doesn't work where can I get a converter to try digital?
thanks
I do know that sometime I play with the connection setup and it works for the same day only
yes the Beolab are connected with power link and one of them connected rj45/power link to the core
is there any cable configuration I should get or just rj45 /power link
Hi Gady,
Welcome to Beoworld! You do need an optical to co-axial audio converter like this one (as Stuart from B&O Ealing mentioned above):-
https://soundsheavenly.com/tv-input/180-optical-to-analogue-audio-converter-with-volume-control.html
This will link the digital input of the speakers to the optical output of the Core, this connection will be needed as well as the usual RJ45 to Powerlink cabling.
Kind regards, Steve.

Do I order fro amazon the converter and still I can get the speakers to wake up but only one play I did all setup as advise
Hi Gary, not sure if you got your problem fixed. You need power link mark II cable between the beolab 5 (the thick fully wired one). You can get it from steve.
Make sure you use fully wire power link mark II cable. You can get them from Steve, the best cable in the world.
Hi,
Thanks @alebouthillier, but the converter that is mentioned in the thread above is required, Beolab 5 won't work correctly with a Core unless the setup described above is used. Fully wired Powerlink cables are also needed, I can supply these but I apologise that I don't stock the converters.
