Picked up some S45s amongst a bunch of stuff today (Beocentre 3500, Beocord 900) and the woofers look mostly ok, but the rubber has started to separate from the frame. It doesn't look like a factory install - very crooked retaining brackets, but other that that seems to be OK. Mid is a bit sticky to touch, but appears in good condition.
What's the recommended adhesive to repair this?
I wouldnt worry too much about the type of adhesive you use to re attach the rubber to the frame, general all purpose should do fine. I would rplace the cross over caps, Martin can supply you with kits...and confirm the cones and coils move freely in the magnet.

And the mountings look original.

Thanks for the responses. I'll get some kind of flexible adhesive and stick them back down. Doesn't appear to be any rubbing when pushing down on that woofer. I'll open the other one up tomorrow and have a look. From what I was told most of this gear was in storage for some time.
Rich:Aren’t they the S45-2
These are type 6302 if that helps. I haven't heard about needing to epoxy anything before...any further info?
I took the other cover off, the woofer surround appears to be still bonded so maybe only on the one I need to re-glue it down. Will order caps with a bunch of other stuff as I get my list together.
With that type no I think you have S45, someone has replace the foam with rubber. Maybe a bit of "Impact adhesive" is needed where the rubber is parting from the speaker. Also follow the advice above about a bead of Epoxy around the magnet, before the magnet slips and jams the cone.
Beovox S45 Type 6302 has rubber surrounds.Beovox S45.2 Type 6312 has rubber surrounds (same woofer as Type 6302)Beovox S45 Type 6427 has foam surrounds.
The foam surrounds in Type 6427 will all have gone bad by now and must be repaired. The rubber surrounds usually show no signs of age but it has been seen before that they can come lose in smaller areas like shown above.
I stand corrected, I did not know there were two versions of the S45. You learn something new every day.
