Steve at Sounds Heavenly:Hi 1990, I haven't tried using the speaker directly with an NL/ML Converter, so I wouldn't recommend this. Kind regards, Steve.

Hi Carolpa,
Sorry, what I meant is that I like to test out specific setups before I recommend them - I don't want someone to come back to me saying "you said this would work, but it doesn't"...... I can provide cables for this setup, please drop me an email via my sponsor link below and I will be happy to help with this.
If you don't get the results that you wanted then please post back the cables for a full refund.
Once the UK lockdown is over, I hope to be able to test this setup for myself!
Steve.

Still researching the Balance... Especially now that BeoLink has been announced :D
But now the choice between the GVA and the non-GVA. The non-GVA page of B&O still lists a microphone and presets as specs. But what can you configure to the presets without GVA? Or did they forget to clean up their copy-paste? :p

steve1977: Maybe NL is not yet dead? If now the new remote is indeed a “NL remote”, things are back to a happy B&O world.
What I really want is a Google-Assistant-to-NL interface. I know I can use Google Assistant to start and control Chromecast, but NL works better than Chromecast. Being able to control NL by voice is something I"d pay handsomely for. (But I think Google won't allow B&O to do that. )

You can do this! The BLI was integrated into Google Home recently. So you can buy BLI Essential and control NL (and if you have the Pro and M/BLGW even the ML!) via Google Assistant.

TAKE ALL MY MONEY RIGHT NOW!!!!
With that out of the way . . . what can I control? Can I start a radio station in my bedroom and expand it to the kitchen? Can I control the volume by voice? Are there any videos showing this, or a place I can read more?
And finally, where do I buy the BLI? Seattle's B&O store closed a few years ago and Portland (4 hours drive) closed last year. Rodeo Drive in LA is about 18 hours each way, and I don't think that would be accepted under current social distancing policies.
steve1977:Let me add all my money... Same questions, how to make this happen? This allow to use GVA to play my dlna sources within my NL network?

There isn’t a lot of documentation on the BLI with Google Home. It’s a new option. If you use Alexa, you can get a BLI Essential or Pro and control all NL sources (and your Hue lights and ip-camera’s)! I’ve asked Khimo to give us some more info.
The preset button can be used to saved radio stations and voice assistance?
Has anyone compared the Stage to the Balance? I currently have the Stage and I really like it, but I need a new speaker for a bedroom and deciding between the Stage and the Balance. I mainly listen to music so wondering if the Balance is that much better for music.

Beovision 7-55 MK1 red, Beolab 10 red. Beolab 50, all black. Beolab 17 broken ice. Beolab transmitter. Apple tv4 and apple express 2.
I do have a tv in there so that’s what I was considering the Stage, but I do listen to music more and the tv in the bedroom is more light watching like tv shows. I have a Stage on my larger TV in my living room and that thing kicks butt for movies.
I’m so glad you said that because I was wondering which had better stereo sound. I was thinking the Stage would because of the width, but it sounds like the Balance handles stereo music better.

For regular audio, the Stage isn't a patch on the BeoSound 2 or Edge (I own all three), so I'd assume the Balance will be substantially better.
I'm quite impressed with my BeoSound 1 for the bedroom. It's a room where, certainly in my opinion, you'd never push a speaker hard, so the BeoSound 1 (with GVA) works really well.
I have a BeoPlay A9 mk2. Would you say the bass is comparable to the Balance or does the A9 still have a deeper bass since it has an 8” driver.

Esax: I had the A9 but did not like it because the bass sounded like it came from the room next door. The bass in balance is better. The sound picture is much better. But it has a limit on how high it can play.

You didn't like the A9? I've owned them all and the A9 is the best of the bunch. The bass sounded fantastic to me. Trumps the BeoSound 2 and Edge for sure.
But all these speakers need configuring in the app. If you leave the A9 to standalone and place it near a wall, the bass will sound odd and muffled as it tries too hard to impress.

Esax: I had it on the floor and on the wall. Buy a balance and you see what you are missing. Or maybe buy the A9 mk 3-4.

See what you're missing? Are you trying to wind me up? You’ve heard the Edge, right? I can assure you, I'm not "missing" anything without a Balance.
Yes, I would love to hear about experiences with a pair Balances in stereo. I know John mentioned a little in his video, but wondering how they compare to like BL 17s, 18s or 20s.

According to the latest App beta, Radio Service is coming to the Balance ! I Guess TuneIn
BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
There’s apparently an October update for the Balance. Touch to join/ML and tune in maybe? I feel like the Balance hasn’t gotten much attention on this forum because it doesn’t integrate with B&O systems well. Let’s hope this update with change that.

I think my biggest issue with the Balance is that the design just doesn’t seem very B&O-ish; I feel like they played it a little too safe, which isn’t really a very B&O thing to do. It no doubt has the opportunity to look absolutely gorgeous and to blend in with some people’s living space, but personally for me I like my speakers to be a statement piece for each room and thus I have absolutely no regrets owning the BeoSound 1 & 2 instead.
And if I wanted a convenient wireless speaker with more oomph I’d go straight to the Edge, though I do still maintain that the BeoSound 1 & 2 have the best aluminum work of all their current wireless/multi-room speakers.
Also why get the Balance in stereo when a pair of 17’s is cheaper (and it’s even starting to inch uncomfortably close to a pair of 18’s).

Do you know when this will be available to test out?

Where did you hear this? Any ideas when it may happen? Keen to test it out.
They spoke about it on the BeoTalk podcast and I heard it somewhere else as well. Who knows if it got pushed back.

As a pair or solo? I find it pretty difficult to believe that the Balance can replicate the stereo imaging of proper separates; and I don't particularly like how the Balance only supports stereo with Google and why I've never really considered it a true stereo speaker. Since the 17's are apparently on their way out though I'd love to see what B&O inserts into its "most affordable stereo speaker" price bracket.

I agree. When I bought my BeoSound 2 earlier this year the Balance was also available but I didn’t even bother listening to it because I was put off by the look straight away. It’s not very B&O looking at all to me, same as the M3, M5 and S series speaker, which also have no stand out features design wise and are uninteresting to me personally. It would be interesting to know what percentage of people that buy B&O choose styling over capability. Of course we all want both in an ideal world but I wonder what takes preference for buyers?
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
