How do you repaint a Beo4 ??

I have searched the forum, and cant find anything ? most Beo4 body's chip or get scratched, is there a workshop on how to repaint them ??, do you have to strip them back to bare metal ?

I have always used hammerite ( non hammered )... works and lasts

Also better Finnish when the surface is prepaired ..medium grade paper

Spray is best ...a bit of an issue getting the battery terminals clear from the case of the remote ...just take care.

When you have the case, wire wool and gently remove any loose paint

Then just hang and spray about 3/4 light coats will do and allow 24/36 hrs for drying

I have a large section on the side that is bare metal, how can i fix this, or do I have to strip the side back to metal and repaint the side first, so that I get an even coat on the whole body.

Just take it back to bare metal with a paint stripper then wash and dry ready for paint.

Still no dealer thats ever repainted or touched up a Beo4 ?

Strange, maybe it was cheaper for them to buy a new body ?

Hi,

You know, let's have a different approach: Stop seeing it as a B&O pricey icon and just see it as a piece of metal.

Bramble told you: just sand it and spray it. It will always be better (even if you're clumsy) than peeled paint.
And if first shot isn't good enough, sand it and spray it again, it's just Bare metal, you're not cutting or carving it.
Even if the paint do wear quickly you'll be able to do it again when needed.

As long as you take care of protecting electronics which is quite easy, there's no problem in trying.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips, I like the idea of using a primer to give it a key, is the car primer and paint, thinner based, white spirit or water ?
