Yes, I think that (the two part approach) is the most likely route.
How it will look matched with a screen, who knows.
And how (or if) they incorporate a motorised wall mount, who knows.
And if the sound centre is more obviously available to buy separately from the screen, then we're not in V2 territory, but something else. Probably unhelpful to call it a Beosystem (5), as previous version did some video / image management, whereas the sound centre's dont really. Pedantic point perhaps.
Anyway, nothing soon from what I see / understand, despite those claiming ISE (?? what happened?) or April?
1990: Interestingly, the Harmony has one Sound Center with different sized speaker panels. So you can switch sizes while retaining the Sound Center. If the redesign is something more fundamental, B&O could use the same approach? In that case the Sound Center could also double as the much wanted “BeoSys 5” integrated in a centre speaker?

Canvas shows that you can achieve pretty neat integration. (Not seen in flesh though...)

A few weeks ago, Henrik Baron Vejrup (sp) mentioned in the Mikepedia podcast that the V2 Eclipse will be simply an adaptation of the current version with a C9 screen.
An adapter bracket will be installed on the Sound Center to allow a stock C9 screen to be used and the "trick" mentioned by "specializten" two weeks ago (installing simply the B&O software on the C9) will allow integration of the screen and sound center. Apparently, the screen inventory for the current Eclipse is about to be exhausted and this will allow continuing production.
Jean
Which could mean that the ‘adapter option’ will be for being able to sell the rest of the excisting Sound Centers.
Whether they will be built as is in the future or if there will be a ‘new’ version of the Sound Center, is too early to say anything about.

This would be great news. Then I could upgrade my screen to a CX, just in time for the PS5,
A 1500€ upgrade which I would consider a steal.
Perhaps great times ahead :) Also for B&O as it would be a very cheap conversion.

Who started this thread with Eclipse coming April 2020?
I've just been told by B&O UK's "Head of Operations" that it's not even confirmed for release and it's still in development - ie. it's months away.
I wouldn't listen to rumours from dealers.
We did try and tell him at the start of the thread that April was not happening.
And was more likely still pretty far away.
At best, I could imagine there was a possibility that something would be announced for release much later in the year.
But they're obviously still working on the product design itself, so take a breath everyone.
I'd say its 50/50 at best that we see anything this side of Xmas.
Also, there are dealers and then there are dealers - I talk to a pretty experienced one, but not just any old salesman..
If you have an in depth conversation with one who has good knowledge, you can read between the lines - even if nothing is made explicit.

I must say that I thought I had it from a good source,
They had it online, and I contacted them.
They have later removed it from their website.
I also talked to my dealer last week for an update (not the same dealership) and he says that B&O are not coming with any information at all here in the Corona time. So lets see.
I did not mean any harm by my thread, I really believed it, when they sold it on their webpage...
Reading everything here maybe there are 2 new versions coming : one soon which is just a trick to adapt a standard C9/CX panel to the sound center and one later (2021) which will offer a revised design of the soundcenter.
diisign.com
What do you think?
No,
How do we get from dampening down over eager excitement for a product that has no real timeline - to now expecting 2 variants of the product?
Do some not appreciate that B&O is a slow moving company when it comes to product launches (coloured headphones aside)?

Hi,
Of course delayed by Corona but does anyone know something about release date of Eclipse 2?
And technical features? I heard about LG CX...
Is it all possible to convert an Eclipse v1 into v2 by simply swapping the C7 panel for a C9?

I know this sounds radical, but if we knew, we'd hear about it here. Last thing I was told (by a dealer) was that it's in the works, but it's still in the development stage. He was saying he wasn't expecting it any time soon.
People aren't keeping the info to themselves, there's just no new info.

Thanks a lot, Moxxey !I hope we can expect this for Christmas, and wil have LG GX panel.
Is there any news on this? It seems a bit odd that the old panel that is from 2017 is still sold as it has been replaced already 2018 with c8 and 2019 with c9 that gives us AirPlay 2 and HomeKit compatibility (coming to the 2018 models too, but not 2017). Now we have cx series as well so its really confusing how they can even get such old panels still.

They must have bought a lot of panels back then, it is very unlikely that they have produced any panels for the Eclipse since 2018.
And I also think that is why we havn't seen the new one yet, they have not sold their old stock yet.
Any news, a Dane on another forum have been given a price on the new setup with a GX, so should not be too long.... I also said that when the thread began.....
It's still coming. Last I heard, B&O was planning a more flexible bracket to allow people to drop in a panel update at a later date. Ironically, no-one seems to have complained that this was what dealers promised buyers when they first bought their Eclipse - that B&O would supply an updated panel in the future. Now the CX is out, you'd think this is perfect for original owners.
I don't think they are buying old panels. We've had that discussion, too. The rumour is they bought a large number of custom panels and simply haven't shifted them all?
Michael:And the thread said it would come in April :). Well, we don’t know what will happen until it happens I guess but been waiting for an update now for a long while. I have a hard time believing they bought a lot of panels that just sit idle in a facility somewhere.
Not really hard to believe? They have custom panel components and for those to be a) tooled and b) manufactured at a sufficient cost for B&O, there will have been a minimum order. LG won't be producing those old custom panels on demand in 2020 - like Emil says, they'll have stored production stock somewhere.
My understanding is that B&O wants to move away from this for the Eclipse v2 and just produce a stand which allows you to drop in a new panel yourself, later, without any custom components.

the whole body of the screen on the eclipse is custom, there is no ''lg'' on/off light for once and the rear is totally different and the entire bottom is flat to fit. also the firmware is totally custom, you can't get in to the ''lg'' part of sound nor does it have the standard lg speakers attached. We seem to all be way over simplifying what b&o put in to the eclipse.

Well I do not have one of either, I just assumed the plastic cover is different and not putting speakers or the button in is probably not a big deal. Its a custom model of course but the changes are fairly small. As far as I have understood there is no special firmware, just the B&O app to make the units interact with each other. As everyone knows, a regular LG panel work with both Stage and SoundCentre. Anyway, I hope there will be a new solution soon and that the way they do it is making updates simpler.

It also have 2 tv tuner, the C7 have not, and no it is not an app on the eclipse.
Also it came in a B&O box,
So no not that simply, it is not a C7 it is a Eclipse panel, as much as E7 is not a C7, or actually even more.

Michael: Ah, well anyways. It seems like the solution chosen wasn’t very good as they still seek a now outdated device. I hope, as I’ve said before, that the next solution will be smarter.
Ah, well anyways. It seems like the solution chosen wasn’t very good as they still seek a now outdated device. I hope, as I’ve said before, that the next solution will be smarter.
But now they have the reverse issue: how to drop an off-the-shelf panel in to an Eclipse v2 and convince us it's an Eclipse and not just another LG + sound center + stand combination.
Let's face it, B&O just do not sell enough TVs to justify custom parts. Totally agree they shouldn't be using a 2017 panel (was amazed when Seanie bought a 65" Eclipse for that reason), this put me off when I was considering a discounted Eclipse in March, but dropping in a off-the-shelf panel has different issues, too. Dilemma.
I do agree that they should have chosen the Harmony way the first time, but I guess that was not an easy solution as the back panel would have looked awfull.
The back panel on the Eclipse really do look good, and very good cable management.
But about the panels I have just bought a 48CX as PC screen/Bedroom tv, and I see no difference from that to the Eclipse.
The only thing missing is the HDMI 2.1 for consoles or high end pc, and I think that a big margin of Eclipse customers could not care less about these features.
They are more for the old system, so that the 2 tuners a relevant.
At least that goes for my parents.
So there is pro and cons, myself would always choose the newest panel, but that is because of the nerd inside me.

Seanie_230: Anyway this post was to just say I am in love with my TV, regardless of the panel being 2017 the picture is by far flawless, no juddering like the avant had on ticker or fast moving scenes.

And that's the important thing! I was just stunned anyone on the board would spend so much money on one in 2020, knowing what we know. Mainly as I was so 'angry' that B&O was still using the old panels, when I went to buy one in March
The Eclipse is a fantastic TV. But really needs to have the latest panel if we're paying that much money.
