Is it only me that has stability issues with BV Horizon 40?

  • Sometimes it can not be turned on
  • Sometimes it can not be turned off
  • Sometimes the green light is on even when it is not used and no other products are turned on
  • Sometimes the network configuration is lost  and has to be configured again

It happens perhaps 2-4 times per month.

Yes the the TV is fully updated. I have tried to clear the program cache and reboot the TV by holding down the standby button for 20 sec until the logo is shown again.

I am not asking for suggestions to get another TV.

Stability was improved with the update in October but it also required a reset.

Did you set the quick timers in the hidden menu? My Horizon is quite responsive and I have set the TV in quick start mode from 00:00 to 23:59.

Hidden menu can be found when going to settings, just before entering settings submenu first press red button and then settings, a new submenu pops up and various advanced settings can be found.

Green light is just some background check from Android, does not mean anything. I experience very few crashes, once in a while the android crashes and reboots itself.

Hope this helps

It has nothing all to do with responsiveness. When the TV cannot be turned on. It will not turn on at all! Only workaround is to pull out the power cable wait about 15 seconds. Attach the power cable again. Then I can turn it on again. So a quick timer will not solve this. It can only be a bug.

Yes the green light mean in my case that I cannot turn on the TV. In this case the will stay green until I pull the power cable out, wait and attach it again. Otherwise it will stay green for ever. It is when the TV is not in use at all. I have had this issue 3-4 times. I can not even reboot the TV with the remote

I know that the green light sometimes is normal situation, but in this situation.

Still issue with stability. A technician was here. That day he only went through a B&O check list. I had already myself done almost all the same. After that day the TV has restarted 3 times by itself during use.

1. Reinstall the whole tv - general settings, ...

2. When tv re-installed make sure you’re signed in to Google store

3. Make sure the batteries are new

There is no more updates for Horizon/14/Avant NG I’m afraid. The issues will still come back but hopefully not as often. Small Signal Board and Big Signal Board replacement MAY help.

What do you have connected to your TV ? Is there HDD connected via USB?

Hi Pat

1, 2, 3 has been done earlier. Did not remove the issue.

Directly connected to the TV I have:

  1. An AppleTV (newest and updated)
  2. An SSD disk to enable pausing.
  3. 2 Beolab 4000 speakers.

The Bang&Olufsen head quarter says that there is most like a hardware issue, but the technician they sent are not sure about that. And I do not understand so bad the B&O customer service works. They write to me that there the head quarter says that there is most like a hardware failure, but the technician they sent home to me had not got any information about this. I needed to provide him with the email I have got. And the technician cannot log in the log files! It is scary how it works.

I do not use quick start so that was not the issue.
