Hello,

I have been offered a Lutron Rania dimmer  (B&O version) for Christmas.

It's installed and works well, but I have to make it co-operate with the several LC2s already in place.

I would like to assign it a lamp number in order to integrate it in the scenes involving the LC2s.

I cannot find the advanced settings manual, the web page mentioned in the installation guide is no more in line.

Thanks by advance to all helpful Beoworlders.

Yann.

Not possible i'm afraid - the LC2 uses number commands to recall scenes, whereas the Rania uses the four colour buttons. Also the LC2 uses 'STOP' to switch the lights off whereas the Rania uses '0'. Just set up scenes you like on both and remember to press the number and colour you want to change. They will all respond to up and down for dimming.

Thanks Martin,

I unfortunately had not high hopes that my idea was possible.

In addition to coulor buttons, the Rania also uses ciffers 1 to 4.

According to what you say, the only solution would be to use scenes 1 to 4 for Rania + LC2s and scenes 5 to 9 for LC2 only.

I already changed the programming of my Beo5 to include the specific power-off command of the Rania in my "All lights off" macro.

Kind regards,

Yann.

On my LC1s, which I use with my Lutron BnO, I have found that scenes 1-4 map to the colored buttons, starting at the 7o'clock position: red=1; green = 2; yellow =3; and blue = 4. The only other difference is the "off": lutron prefers "0": LC1 prefers "stop"

Maybe the LC2 is similar?

Yann,

Interestingly, if you were to be using a Rania Dimmer which is NOT a B&O version with your Beo5, then you would not have the problem.

Keith,

Thanks for the information.

I noticed that adding Lutron Rania in my Beo5 did not bring to any result, so I removed it of the "accessories" list.

The dimmer is there and I doubt that B&O dealers sell non B&O versions.

Kind regards and happy new year,

Yann..

Yann,

Attached is an XML control file for a Lutron Rania for DIRECT control of a NON B&O Lutron Rania.

Non B&O Lutron Rania are freely available such as from HERE

The attached XML file will NOT work on B&O versions.

Regards Keith....

Keith,

Thank you again!

As usual you have the right answer to each question..

Thanks for the XML file and the link.

When compared to to the B&O version, regular Ranias are pretty cheap.

Happy new year and kind regards,

Yann.
