Hello, regarding essence remotes are they known for issues with the volume wheel not working? I’ve got one where all the faceplace commands work but the volume wheel doesn’t respond, it runs fine on the bearing but I’ve notice some lubrication on it.

Mine works fine. Sounds like you have faulty remote.

I wanted to know if it’s a common issue for the volume wheel not to work and the rest of it function correctly and should there be lubrication on the bearing and is this causing the using to short in effect and that’s why the volume isn’t working.

The unit that tore apart seemed to have an issue where the gasket started to dissolve and mix into the lubricant, or the lubricant itself became hard.

My suggestion to try and fix yours would be to remove the gasket, but leave the bearing.

That should make it possible to use wd40/crc and electrical cleaner or alcohol to clean out the bearing of grease and gunk.

Then use compressed air to blow out moist. And then you can fill it with bearing grease.

Thanks for the advice did you get your working again ever? I’m looking for a spare pressure plate and rubber that are underneath the face plate, also the black back part which holds the batteries mine are damaged and need replacing. TIA
