Hi all.

Can someone please tell me if there is any electrical difference between the early beocom 6000 chargers with the round contacts and the later ones with the oval contacts or is it just a physical difference in the contact shape?

I an wondering if I could modify an old style charger simply by enlarging the contact holes into ovals.

Thanks

This link might help.

Beoworld Beocom 6000 page says :- Due to safety reasons the updated handset will not fit table chargers produced before May 2003 or the triangular base station. The risk of having a burst from the line if the handset is placed in the old triangular base station, when using a headset, has forced mechanical change to be made the phone.

Ah OK thanks. I guess there is some filtering in the later base or power supply. I'll borrow one and have a look.

Have a look at this thread, especially Keith's last post: https://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/3160.aspx

I checked my Mk1 and Mk2 chargers and they all produce 5.6V unloaded.
