Hi all, I’ve just purchased a second hand Beoplay V1 32. First impressions are pretty good (still adjusting after many happy years with a 7-32). One niggle is that the current software on the set is version 1.0.5.33043. I’d like to install the latest version (1.0.11.37484) but when I go to update via internet I’m told the TV cannot contact the update server.  I’m also unable to download PUC tables.

I am connected to the internet via a wired connection, and I’m able to access YouTube via the TV’s inbuilt  WebMedia so I’m pretty sure I’m online. Any advice for a NL newbie?

Hi Luke,

Try a factory reset, then the software update.

Thanks for the advice Laurence - I’ve given that a try but no luck unfortunately. Any other tricks I could try?

Luke,

Given that you can access Youtube, I’ll assume that your TV has a valid IP address.

I checked for updates one of my V1-40s today, and it just said that there is no update, so I’ll conclude that B&O’s update server is available.

Makes me wonder whether your TV is reaching out to the update server on a port that is blocked by your router.

Do you have any unusual / customised network or router settings?

Thanks Mikipedia, yep visited the support site prior to posting. Reluctant to update via usb as I’ve read of people having a few issues on here via that route. It also won’t solve the problem of not being able to download PUC files either, which is frustrating

Lawrence, thanks again - good idea: I’m currently connected to the internet via a powerline adaptor as the TV is in my workshop for testing (before I mount it up in the living room). I’ll connect it directly to the router to see if that helps

thanks all for suggestions and help

with best wishes
Luke

Hi

I have three VE1.0 TVs at home, one Avant 55 and two V1’s. All three connect to the B&O PUC server. Having the latest software version won’t dictate this from working. Updating software by USB is commonplace if there’s no internet connection (we have some elderly clients without it!) and it’s much quicker to download/upload the file.

All I can think is you have some firewall preventing connection.

Did you register the V1 to your B&O account?

Have you made sure to activate the remote support in the app?

This might help to solve the problem remotely.

If you have an iPhone try bypassing your ISP router by connecting the TV to the phones personal hotspot on your cellular data network. I’ve successfully connected one of my V1’s to my iPhone X and connected to the PUC portal.

Hi all, after all your helpful advice, I updated the software via usb. All very painless and I’m now on the most recent software. As soon as the update finished I was able to connect to the Webmedia service, as well as accessing the PUC database so it seems that the old software was not communicating either the server as it should have. Recorded here in case anyone else has the same issue in the future

Thanks again to everyone for your kind help

Can I ask where you found the download to put on a USB?

Seems I have exactly the same issue you were struggling with but cant find a path to download the file

Cheers!

Hi,

I too have a V1 and with with ancient 2012 firmware. Unable to make an ethernet connection and I'm without the wi-fi antenna so usb is best. No download link to be found anywhere.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

With thanks,

Apologies all - I’ve not been on the forum for a while a didn’t realise there were so many people looking for this. I’ll check to see if I still have the update on a USB stick somewhere. In the meantime I’d suggest contacting B&O support. The download was still available when I wrote the originals post, but I see the page has now been taken down from the B&O site.

Assuming I still have it, is there anywhere on the Beoworld site I could upload the file?

Sure, it is possible to get the newest sw and update via USB.

However, I wonder what it is, that interest you, when your tv has no access to the internet/homenet (no ethernet/wi-fi)?

Just curious - doesn’t the tv work as of now?

Hi,

I had the same problem. After I mailed the official Bang And Olufsen Support, they sent me a download link to the FW.

So write them for help!

Regards, Andras

Hi

These links are labelled as V1 40" software. Is the software the same across the V1 versions, or is the software for the 32" different?

(before I download it and mess everything up)
