Hi,

I got my hands on a "dead" Beosound 8.

Opened it up - And noticed that there was no power on 5V pins. Found that a section of exposed pcb trace was missing.(no idea how/why). Put a jumper wire and 5V is good now.

Ipod on 30pin connector does not get any response. No charging..no green status.

connecting line-in and playing music - lights up the green status led. But no sound from speakers.

The keypad responds to remote and keypresses (light on keypad activated).

but NO sound from speakers.

Any guidance Sad?

Thanks !!

Progress. Not that I fixed anything but -

1. No response on the dock connector. No charging of ipad.

2. line-in - status turns green but no sound. keypad responds to remote but no sound.

NEW

3. USB - The input here works without issues.

So PCB999 seems to be ok.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Hi dahiyas, were you able to fix your problem?

Everything was working fine with mine, I ordered a 30 pin bluetooth receiver and when I tried it nothing happened, no green light, no orange light, the speaker was dead. I plugged something via line, it works but once I try to use my iPod on the dock the speaker dies completely.

I opened everything to check the connections and cables, there is nothing loose or broken.

I don't know what could be interfering with the iPod dock.

Unfortunately No. In fact the system went silent after couple of days. One of the ic’s had a burn mark on it. Haven’t touched it since then.

That's a bummer...

Do you have any plans for it, maybe part it out?
