I have a pair of Beolab 5 speakers we just picked up from an authorized B&O service center, I saw them operate there.
I connected the speakers to my Beomaster 5 / Beosound 5 system via power link cables.
The Beomaster 5 contains music in the music library. I have selected Beolab 5 speakers from the settings menu.
I can't get any sound from the speakers. The Beosound 5 unit appears to be playing the selected song, just nothing out of the speakers.
I do not have a remote for the Beosound / Beomaster unit. Can anyone help what might be wrong with this ?
1. Does the speakers turn on ?
2. When using the volumen wheel on the Beousond 5, is the blue volume indicator moving ?
3. Are you using the correct powerlink cables ?

Hi
1) Both speakers calibrate normally. After calibration, one speaker remains with the red 'standby' light on. The other speaker 'standby' light turns off after a few minutes. This speaker has a brand new amplifier in it, with the latest firmware, it was just redone. In short, I think the speakers are ok. I picked them up from the B&O service yesterday, where both speakers were demonstrated to be working fine.
2) The Beosound 5 blue volume indicator moves when i turn the volume wheel.
3) The powerlink cables are fully wired, they were advertised to be the correct ones for Beosound 5 etc. These are the thick cables.
Thank you for all of your help....!
Hi,
I would try putting in the settings your beomaster 5 in AudioMaster 2 mode or try other AM modes, especially if it's connected to a masterlink setup with an other master.
SVAUTO:I saw them operate there
Don’t the BL5s turn on at all?
make sure, that BS5 is set to audiomaster (AM), BL5s set to L-R input (not LINE), and BL5 option set to L.OPT 0.
yes, you will need a Beoremote like Beo4, BL1000, Beo5/6, BL5000/7000 in one way mode...
